Grey Knight Psilencer anyone?

Yet to see a single gk player with one, I will probably have to as I just bought a bunch of second hand grey knights, and 1 had a psilencer, at least its free on strike squads right?

Why the hell would you use the 5+ armor when your lugging around a SS anyways?

Um, when you're hit by an attack that denies invulnerable saves but not armour?

Okay something like that does not exist ATM/anymore (I think), but it is just the writers thinking ahead, as crazy as that may sound.

Good god, your right!

So lets say your playing another GK player and HIS Vindicare Assassin goes and shoots one of your Crusaders and blasts his shield to bits with his ward breaker shot! Then you have one less 3++ to allocate low AP shots to!

lol..

It's a stretch to be sure. I'm doubtful the opposing Vindi won't have a higher priority target then a single crusader anyways.. but it could at least bring the 5+ into play.

The inquisitors plasma syphon. As far as i recall, only 3 DEFINATE weapons it works on, as I think the tau weapons are up in the air in that regard? Still, waste of points, and this from a guy running a daemonsword OM

The tau plasma, and even their basic weapons count, per the FAQ

A: All Plasma weapons, as well as Eldar missile
launchers firing plasma missiles, burst cannons,
starcannons, all Tau pulse weapons and any weapon
described as using ‘plasma’ as its effect or in its special
rules.

Haha well then its a tad more usefull, it affects a single squad until a slightly squishier HQ bites it As said, not knocking the wierder inquisitor builds (i love em), but id always feel those 10 points are 2 psychic powers, another weapon upgrade in a squad, or something else i could have taken instead and been better off for Though by all means, if someone wants to share a story of that bit of equipment bringing them success, please share, could do with a good story

Well, the enemy still has to be within 12" for it to work. At longer ranges its useless.

Useless wargear?

Termagants: Spike rifles - borer they come with is free and better.
Strangler webs - S2 that wounds against strength? no thanks.

Nids have tons of options that seem viable, until you read it a bit more.

Only worthwhile upgrade on weapons for termagants is a devourer, and that double them in points lol.

Fluff/cinematics can be a reason to take wargear other than powergaming (though having said that, taking a non-obsolete weapon choice doesn't necessarily mean 'power gaming'- it's just not giving yourself a crutch.

I havn't read the latest codex in detail, but I like the shredder for its sheer evilness. Its description in ye olde codex almost makes you feel guilty just fielding it (almost, but not quite- as you're badass Dark Eldar!).

Here is one for you: Tau Photon Grenades. Simply put, charging enemy units do not need the bonus attack from charging to beat Firewarrios in close-combat. But this upgrade is far worse than that. Because of the way CC works, the Tau player wants the enemy to outright destroy the Firewarriors, so the charging squad is stuck out in the open and can be shot off the board the following turn. By taking Photon grenades, Firewarriors might just get locked in combat for a single round, protecting the squad that charged them for a round which will probably mean another Tau squad gets charged the following round. As such, Photons Grenades aren't simply useless, they can actually cause the Tau player to lose the game. The Tau better spend their points elsewhere.
