My favorite misspell is the german ork codex saying trukks explode 6" rather than d6". Hurray for guided explosives!
ZebioLizard2 wrote:Knowing the Imperial guard, this has happened somewhere, dropping troops and bombs at the same time.
Actually, Zagstrukk's fluff says that his bommer drops bombs, storm boyz and himself at the same time.

7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks actually do not think that purple makes them harder to see. The joke was made canon by Alex Stewart's Caphias Cain books.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.
Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers.
Orks do not have the power of believe. |

Jackal wrote:and the use of the word "gaunts" for termagants
That would be because they have only recently seperated them.
The old box of troops (8 terms, 8 horms) was actually just called "Tyranid Gaunts"
They've been called 'Termagants' since their introduction in 2nd Ed.
OED wrote:Termagant, n. A violent, overbearing, turbulent, brawling, quarrelsome woman; a virago, shrew, vixen. (Now the ordinary sense.)
Quite a few of the Tyranid creatures introduced at that time took their names from obscure and unflattering terms for women (see also Dominatrix, Hierodule, Harridan, Harpy).

Eldrad seems to always get mis-spelled (either intentionally to be derogatory, or unintentionally) as Eldard.

"Khorne is a noble warrior who respects strength and bravery, who takes no joy in destroying the weak, and considers the helpless unworthy of his wrath. It is said that fate will spare any brave warrior who calls upon Khorne's name and pledges his soul to the blood god. It is also said that Khorne's daemons will hunt down and destroy any warrior who betrays his honour by killing a helpless innocent or murdering in cold blood..."

Not 40k per se, but during a Dark Heresy (40k RPG) game, I had a Commissar urging the players to equip themselves with slut throwers (rather than slug throwers). Needless to say, this Commissar lost all fear factor he might have had.
