I've got quite a few LE models.

The LE Necron Lord leads my army (and he's painted!). The LE Possessed Champ leads my first-ever squad of Possessed. The Skullz Ultramarine Standard Bearer has held the Company Standard aloft in many game. The Skullz Adeptus Mechanicus cadre have fought in games of 40K, and acted as adversaries in Dark Heresy/Deathwatch on countless occasions. The LE Marine with mohawk & Storm Bolter has led squads into battle, and acted as my character in Deathwatch quite a few times. The 'At Ease' Guardsmen have guarded many an outpost in Dark Heresy and anywhere else I need "non-combat stance" Guard. The LE Cadian Standard Bearer has rallied troops to his side on more occasions than I care to remember - a real life saver that one! The LE Lictor has skulked around battlefields and stalked Deathwatch characters more times than its opponents would care to remember (!).

The only ones I think I haven't yet used are the Title Belt LE Marine that came free with orders to the GW website a while back, the FW Boarding Marine (not built) and the Bonesinger (just got that).

Personally, I take great care in using any old or limited run minis. I don't like shooting nids, so my 2nd edition hive tyrant with the venom cannon never saw a knife blade for conversion. It runs as is. And I go oit of my way to scavenge or rescue old models. They do no good just being in a parts bin, they want to be played!

I have numerous LE/SE models. I used to use them all the time.

Too many little kids who steal these days. I caught one walking around with one of my SM captains, the one that came in the army box back in 2003-2004?

QFT. Indeed I'm astonished that anybody could object to players using limited edition models; ultimately their principal function is as playing pieces for a wargame, not as speculative investments.

Could you post a couple pictures of those? I don't think I've ever seen the possessed champion or lictor limited edition models before, and I'd like to!

I use the limited edition Space Marine sergeant (or titlebelt as you call him ) in my Sternguard. I'd like to figure out a use for my "at ease" Cadians though. My friend had the idea to run a full squad of them as it would have been hilarious, but he only ever got 4 which he passed on to me.

I don't see a problem with it as long as they're taken care of. They just add something to your army that not many people have, and it's always nice to see rare and OOP stuff getting a bit of game play. The owner of my FLGS uses the Games Day Techpriest as his Dark Heresy Techie character. It's a unique model, to represent a unique character.

I use the Games Day Orc Boss as my Warboss whenever I play my Snakebite Orks, it was fun to paint, and I have fun playing it too.

Yeah there's honestly not much to the Ltd Ed Lictor. Just some different arms. But I still like him.

The Possessed Champ, while he ain't 'metal possessed models' terribad, he's still pretty bad. But he makes a good champ.

Oh, and I have the LE Games Day Marine with the Thunder Hammer. He's nifty.

He is at that, especially since he had a separate head.

I also like the Games Day 13th Company Wolf Priest.

I always bought Limited Edition or "Limited Run" miniatures specifically to use them in my armies, possibly converting them.

I thought the whole idea was that it made your army a bit more unique.

I bought the Grumlok and Gazbag mini from Warhammer Online so my Warboss would look cool and different.

and actually I dislike limited runs miniatures in my wargames TBH. It's bad enough with CCGs and heroclix and all that other crap. If there's a cool mini out there for my wargame that I want....well dammit I shouldn't have to jump through flaming hoops to get him.

I have that model, got him for spending £50 in on go at the online store. Waaaaaaaaaay back in the good ol' days of GW when they incentivised buying retail instead of going to a discount site.

In Da Mek Shop.

I just bought a limited edition games day Kroot shaper off E-bay. He will make a nice addition to my Tau army. And when not part of my Tau he will run with my ordo xenos inquisitor as a warrior acolyte in my grey knights force. Simply cause I can. Thats the one thing i love about fielding inquisitors. his warband can contain pretty much any model you wish, so long as you can fit it into one of the hencheman roles

Ork WAAAGH Zapzog: roughly 4000 points and ever growing. Tau Cadre of Zuran'Ki: 3000 points. Grey Knights Interdiction Force Galeon : 2500 points. Tyranid Hive Fleet Crateria: 2500 Points. The Host of Hadrekon: 1500 points. Catachan 44th Swamp hunters. 800 points.

2000 points Skaven Army. Arcsqueeks Horde 1000 points Vampire Counts Army. Duke Valmai's Court. 1000 Points Dwarven Army. Bhor Grimhammers Throng. Planning to get some Ogres later this year.
Curse you Snake-eyes!

Wow, that limited edition Possessed Marine really is ugly! Tentacles coming out of his eyes is cool though.

I love that model, and I'm happy to use him in my Space Wolves! Or at least I was, when I still used them regularly. Also, I got a Marine captain labeled "birthday Marine" in a blister for $5 with Sergeant Centurius at a flea market. The Marine in question is on the left:

He doesn't actually have any Black Templar markings or details, but I've only ever seen him painted in BT colors.

I'm very much on the opinion that LE/SE models should be used.

I have a few kicking about; 25th Anniverary SM, Most of the White Dwarf Models for the last 20 years, the LE Tau Etherial, the SM standard bearer & the assassin from the Skullz promotion and a few FW show models.

Not really SE or anything but quite rare are the Chainsaw Warrior miniature that make up the CCS of my IG army and the Chainsaw Wizard that leads my flamer PCS. So long as the scale fits, they really add character to any army.

The Skullz Assassin was really just them selling the original Assassin model again. Never really saw him as LE.

I have one of the 500 Commissar Ciaphas Cain models (still unpainted, I am going to commission that) and I've used him in games both as a Commissar and as an objective marker (obviously not both at once!). An awesome model for sure and what use would he be if I didn't play him?

Was it a LE or is it just an old model?

The same argument can probably be made for old models that are made for LE models. Some people collect them, but I like using them to personalize my army.

Yes the female Commissar was only sold at Gamesdays, so it is technically a limited edition. Although they sure did make a @#$%ton of them.
