Emperor's Champion can't be the Warlord so we have to pay for an HQ,

Just like he couldn't be a mandatory HQ (unless you played 750 or below) before. Nothing has changed.

Except he explictly could. It was even in the FAQ, not to mention that it follows RAW.

BTs had access to army-wide Preferred Enemy, but did anybody really think they were going to keep that?!?
Everybody except the die-hard head-in-the-sand-types knew that this was coming.
You now have Rage instead, which isn't a bad ability at all.

Why would we expect GW to Errata it away? It only applies in Close Combat due to the wording in the Codex, it got worse in 6th and we've just had an entire edition of having Preferred Enemy. I wasn't expecting it to stay in a new Codex, but having it removed in an FAQ? Yeah, everyone TOTALLY saw that one coming...

Land Speeder Typhoons, one of our only good units, now has 2 Hull Points.

This applies equally to every army that can take Typhoons

Yes, except those other armies aren't as reliant on their Typhoons to be competetive.

Furious Charge no longer grants bonus I.

Again this applies equally to every army in the game. My Orks don't enjoy hitting after Imperial Guardsmens either....thems the breaks.

It doesn't matter too much in the case of Orks. LC Terminators were good with the I5 bonus because they got to strike before their intended target (MEQ/TEQ). Guardsmen aren't going to suddenly beat Orks in CC just because they get to hit first, whereas it makes a whole world of difference in the case of LC Terminators Between Lightning Claws being AP3, Furious Charge no longer granting extra I and the loss of PE our only good CC unit got nerfed, a nerf that the changes to Power Weapons won't outweigh.

Buff-wise, we more or less only got the improved 2+ saves that everyone else got.

Why did you assume that a buff was forthcoming, needed or indeed deserved?

Oldest Codex in the game, one semi-competetive build and (misguided) faith that GW wouldn't just take away half the good things in our book. I was wrong though, our Bikes and Assault Marines were obviously buffed a little as well. If every single CSM player gets to expect buffs (and they should, that book's silly) then why can't BT players do the same. Our book's in a similar position at the moment.
