I used ot play on the D all the time. With CCGs, and with this. Which was funny in BFG, we used to play 2 on 2 or 3 on 3 and my team always hid in the back and let me rush in and tie everything up while they novacannoned everything.
But anyway, when White Scares came out in White Drawf, a friend of mine bought all bikes, repainted everything and showed me how bikes could swoop in and take the object...so then I got into rushing what needed to be held and sitting there trying to fight things off.
Now that I am working on that, my main issue is, if the game drags on and someone keeps giving me BS rule calls, I get to tired to look it up or fight it and just go with it.
I guess it's payback for what I did to the guy with bad eyes site (I spent all my time painting my BFG fleet and 40K in gray and black zebra strips, since we played on a black board..then bunched things up, so he could not tell what he wasl ooking at)

Tyranids can already fire the quad-guns/icarus lascannons that can be purchased with many fortifications. They only can't fire things like the heavy bolters that come with the Bastion.
False. Tyranids can't fire emplacements and QuadGuns and Icarus are emplacement guns. Sadface.

I think fairly well on my feet, so I tend to rely on that and copious amounts of shooting to get me through a game, rather than actually coming up with a plan beyond, "kill them before they kill me", sometimes this goes well, however other times I get pasted.

I'm overly aggressive, like a few other posters here. I play Space Wolves, and sometimes I send my models into battles worthy of a song, as opposed to executing the soundest tactical maneuver. I also prefer diverse, fluffy lists rather the ultra competitive type

My biggest weakness IMO is I have a tendency to split my forces up. One main force on one side, another smaller force about a foot, maybe far more, away. One force usually ends up being useless... And this was my reaction to me clumping myself together and not spreading out enough while deploying. Guess I compensated too far?

I have a full Strike Force of DA without any Tank Support (Unless you count the Dreadnought) and play not to my strengths of a fast and light army. I play them instead as an Expendable force of foot soldiers, ramming them into the thickest fighting lead by my lone Assault Squad and my favourite character out of the force; My Company Master with assault equipment. I always get thrashed with them as my only heavy hitter is the Company Master with his guard and my small Devastator Squad and Termies I guess.
Also I hate defensive play, and always spread my lines too thinnly and focus on punching a hole through the lines of my enemy and seem to forget the Vital Objctive here and that small elite unit right next to my Devastators and focus on that really big Daemon getting a nice Tally of kills onto my Deathwing...
All in all, I play like a Dwarf. I like my history, I believe in a fair fight and like blunt and hard tactics and fights to the death. I spit in the face of Tanks and Flyers and think that to die heroically is the only death best enough for a Soldier of the Baxter Hall.
That's why I always lose...
I'm fixin' it though and here comes the massive army list of the Imperial Guard... look out enemies of the Rock, for we have re-enforcements!

I sadly look a step into the future, while disregarding the present. I hold things back that could benefit my strategy later in, instead of tweaking the strategy to my advantage and making instant use of resources. It's not so much a lack of flexibility (I can adjust plans if need be) but I can get rather single-track-minded when something seems to be working (especially if it's worked the same way for the last two turns.) Mostly it's failing to account for all options.
Stupid little things, like taking out a ranged squad while completely forgetting about the assault squad ready to charge me, or firing a second heavy weapon at a tank that's already immobilised and had it's weapon destroyed, when I could just as easily retarget at a juicier threat.
I also feel sympathy for my opponents, so will 'ease up' on a friend if I'm doing particularly well. This is all well and good in a casual game with friends, but taking it over to other areas (competitive play, online games, etc) and it can become an issue..

I'm rubbish at deployment. The amount of times I've realised I've lost a game on turn one is a real bummer because I just didn't think about my deployment properly.
Also, using lists I find here on Dakka and then trying to use the tactics that the list is 'supposed' to use. I've found that while everything that's written seems really sensible, if I'm trying to follow the tactics of someone else's army, I just don't enjoy myself and just end up not caring then playing badly. I've now corrected this behaviour however and am in the process of putting together an Eldar list with 3 Wraithlords, the Avatar and a Wraithseer because it will look cool and be fun, win or lose.

I'm too uncompromising. For example, my usual tactic is a headlong charge into the enemy. This charge won't stop until one of us is completely dead.

I don't run optimized lists, and don't spam. I rarely have two of the same unit on the field with my Necrons (minus troops). So that lack of redundancy hurts me some.
I have trouble getting myself moving TOWARDS objectives. I'd much rather sit at standoff range and shoot the hell out of something, than risk getting close. So i often find myself scrambling late game to reach them in time.
(Also doesn't help that I run a relatvely slow footslogging force.)
I have trouble judging distance, many times I'll be maneuvering, and think i'm out of charge range, to be disappointed in the fact that I get caught in melee.
I also hate transports....lol

I'm a reactionary and often suffer from tunnel vision. I rarely have a well thought out plan for the battle but instead rely on previous experiences and knowledge of my army to see me through coming up with a plan as me and my opponet deploy and play. Most of the time it works ok but when the tunnel vision element kicks in it can fall apart quick. Firing everything at a land raider rather than optimising my shooting by picking my targets.
That and I have a tendency to miss use Al'rahem, 1 out of 3 times I will try and use him and a 30 man blob to do something stupid that leaves them stranded in the open to be ripped apart the next turn.
A lot of it is based on a lack of knowledge. I know IG, Orks and Marines (and by extension most MEQ), slowly getting to know DE, but don't know any of the others. I'm not one of these people who seem to be able to memorise codex's so even ones i know well can occasionally throw up suprises and I panic.

I often over-expanded my guard over the entire table before realizing, "feth, now they can't kill anything because they can't all concentrate on a single enemy..."
Most of the reason I left 40k for WM/H is because I prefered aggressive gameplay too much. Most of the reason I left 40k for Infinity is because I prefered the fast-paced action too much. I went where my skill set was more effective rather than spend hours strategizing over a game before I even played.

I play foot and hybrid Imperial Guard.
My main weaknesses are:
1: Not being able to play often so any tactics I have work well in theory but still need to practice. So must play more often!!
2: Confidence-being able to deploy the way I think I should without feeling pressured by what other people are thinking. I want to enjoy the game and learn but as I play people who have been playing longer than me then I worry about how others rate my skill at the game. Does not help when one or two are not the most friendly of players (they are not mean or anything just haven't clicked with them and I forgot a couple of times to hold my guys in reserve and it seems to be an unforgivable sin hehe).
