Curb stomping in the Eye of Terror!

All I gotta say is that I hope Forgeworld "40k stamped" approved units would become more mainstream.

When that happens... start taking Hornets with dual Pulse Lasers. That'll put the GK Rifleman spam to shame!

And at 1000 points you can also have singing spear toting jetlocks, even witchblades in volume. In my Jetbike 1000 pt list I have on bikes an autarch with laser lance and fusion gun with a farseer tricked out, leading a group of 4 warlocks. Yea its not a 10 man strong seer council but this is only 1000 pts here. Those suckers all hitting back armour on the assault you can just bypass the necron shields right away.

My god I would kill to be able to use Hornets with 2 pulse lasers. Hell, howabout guiding a group of 3 of those guys?? Idk what could withstand that volley.

Another good thing for Eldar is that outflankers cannot assault the turn they will appear.

This allows better manouvering of the Serpents. Hello Genestealers, you now will be shot.
Actually, in all the games I made during the 5th ed, tournaments included, my Serpents were rarely charged. This happened twice, against DW and Battlewagon Orks. I lost both games but these were the only losses within the last year.

Basically, if you can keep the enemy at arm's length, it will be hard for him to knock down the Serpents.

Necron is the new Grey Knights in this edition (Currently), but saying an army sucks because it can not easily defeat one army is not the best arguement, esp when most armies will have trouble with Necrons.

But again, Fire Dragons have always been suicide squads in Serpents, so against Necrons it's status quo. Also, Swooping hawks will kill a tank a turn once it gets in range.

On Dakka he was Eldanar. In our area, he was Lee. R.I.P., Lee Guthrie.

Plan your list to be able to take on alot of enemies, you arent going to be playing crons every single game.

A comment on the crons:

As an Eldar/Necron player, I completely agree. I played a game last night against the Ultramarines, and I had some amazing luck... by the end of the third turn I had lost 1 immortal, 1 wraith, 1 deathmark, and 1 VeilTek.... everything else in my army that was killed Reanimated, (thank you dice gods) meanwhile my space marine foe was already down to about 40% of his total starting force. Granted a lot of this was caused by some epic dice rolling both on my part and his, but the point is that with a little luck, the Necrons can become incredibly difficult to kill.

Units like Warp Spiders and Swooping Hawks will help defeat those tanks (in other words - not just fire dragons anymore). Trying to get that first pen to destroy the Quantum Shielding is key, because then you can use that beautiful STR 6 to destroy those vehicles. Also, remember you have complete psychic advantage over the Necrons... as the ONLY defense they have (barring allies) beyond the normal deny the witch is from the Gloom Prism, and that requires precise handling by the cron player, and is also only a very short range nullify.

Bottom line is eliminate every unit.... destroy it until it moves mo more, because a crafty necron player can make up those losses with spawning scarabs, or ghost ark regeneration.

Now as far as Eldar:

I have been running my jetbike army since 6th dropped a couple weeks ago, and i must say I love it. Having that ultimate flexibility of the JB is awesome. My surprise MVP though has to be the Vypers, who in my opinion are very viable again. I have been running 2 units of 2 Vypers both armed with dual Cannons... so 12 STR 6 shots for just over a hundred points or so. They are very resilient with their jink save and 2 hull points each. Not to mention the way that moving and shooting works now, the fast skimmer/jerbikes can take huge advantage of movement or fire more guns than last edition.

Razgriz22 wrote:Necron AV 13 you say? What about rear armour being hit from assaults? Key in swooping hawks. Correct me if Im wrong, but also, doesnt av13 front and sides only last until one hit goes through? Falcons Pulse laser will tear that up. Or howbout a twin linked bright lance on the top of that wave serpent? A little more costly but if my math is right youd have a 5/6 chance to hit at 48" (twin linked BS4), Lance drops 13 down to 12, S8 vs AV12 is 2/6 chance to penetrate (one a 5 or 6). Correct me if im wrong but isnt that 28% so about 1/4 shots youll penn? Ok after the math that doesnt sound the hottest. haha. But every shot helps. A guided Falcon can bust that with a little luck.
.

Ally in a DE Ravager. 105 points for 3 BS4 dark lances. it will likely get a pen and then its just a flying rhino with AV11 for str6 spam.
