Yeah, but Rhinos have only gone up a couple dollars in the last 5 years. They used to be exactly $35

Compared to the Stormraven. That went up almost 50% in the last price hike alone.

People should be outraged by mega-armored nobs. $22.25 each is a crime against all of orkdom. They're the ork equivalent of terminators and they costs over twice as much.

There should be another starter pack on the way in a couple of months or so, and if the last one (AoBR) is anything to go by it should be cheaper to begin with. Perhaps get bits and pieces for now, then pick up the new starter pack when they comes along?

just look around there is a few sites. yes ebay is another good route but most people want to kit and position each new model them selfs.

i can not give you the site name on here.

i think its very shocking how much GW charge for the models . and now we got FINE-CRAP with 10% increase is one big fat joke!

in 10-15 years, other companys will swallow GW cos of there greed!

Rant over

I prefer finecast to metal even if it was as awful as some people made it out to be. I hated everything about metal from how difficult it is to paint, to how it is almost impossible to do any conversions without hacking parts off, to the weight over plastic models. If I had to choose between metal or finecast storm troopers I would take finecast any day of the week.

yeah i really prefer finecast over metal easily. Metal broke so easily...

Hell, i'd rather have a full plastic army.

These threads make me laugh. I just picked up an old vindicator and baal predator both from 2000. The sticker price on each was $35. Prices have not gone up that much.

Trench-Raider wrote:Get on Ebay, go to the 40k section, and punch in "terminator". You will be able to build a squad of them (either assault or tactical) for 25-30$ or less...providing you don't mind the older metal models. Even if you have your heart set on the newer platic models if you look for used and assembled models with awful little kid paint jobs (stripping them using "simple Green" is very simple) you can build the unit for pennies on the dollar.

My point is, shop smart and they don't cost you 50$.

be very careful doing this. sellers will post up bad pictures and will not show you any faults on the models. and if those little kids used plastic glue and did a gak job you're screwed. learned my lesson - id rather pay more for a new batch.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
i remember 12 years ago when i was a kid playing it and some of my friends were very interested in starting up - their parents shut down the idea as soon as they went into the store and saw the prices. they viewed it as some sort of scam.

GW would make alot more money if they werent so greedy.

Once upon a time GW had okay prices.

You could talk a friend into getting an army because he could start up with $150.

2 boxes of Space marines were $50. 2 Rhinos were $50. Character model and a dread or something.

Remember when a metal dread was 30 bucks! And then how excited we all were for a plastic dread?! Sure a plastic model will cost less! Nope 45 bucks.

A box of Space Marines is 35 bucks now... thats $3.50 per little plastic man. $10 a Terminator. $1.55 a Gretchin?

I wish they would cut out all the crap and drop the prices.

A box of Space Marines should contain 10 marines with bolters. No extra bits. No options. For $20.

Then they should have the Assault box, Heavy Weapon box and the Upgrade kit. Each between 20 and 30 bucks.

Assault could have every assault and H2H weapon in it X2.

Same for Heavy.

Upgrade could have variant heads, chest pieces and such. Make one for every chapter.

Same thing could be done for almost every single unit in the game.

3 PLASTIC Eldar Warlocks should be sold in a small box. 3 basic models with 6 heads and 3 spears and 3 swords... $20.

Every army should have a plastic warlord just like fantasy. Were is may plastic Warboss in mega armour... oh yeah it's GW I have to buy a $40 Gazzy model... made from failcost.
