Keep in mind, if your spec ops is HI and carries a missile launcher, you could just use a model from your faction that has that like a Swiss Guard or a Hac Tao.
When we played Necromunda back in the day, you would basically know which weapon you wanted your model to end up with and you'd have one waiting. If you know you want your spec ops guy to have an HMG, you make a model with an HMG and when he finally gets it, that's the model you use from then on in.
Until that point you could use a few different models to represent him. I think it will be fun to model a bunch of different guys to be my spec ops at different levels.

I wonder if the Spec Ops packs will have all the weapon options available to the Spec Ops. IE if you can make one with an HMG will they have an HMG and such in the pack?
If so I will glady pick up multiple Spec Ops just to have the various weapons modeled.

If they do have multiple weapon options as well as multiple heads, it will be really bad...for my wallet =P

well the rumour is specops will be the next releases (quite logical if the book is around the corner), so we will know soon enough, but from the models we have already seen, they will probably have two heads and two arms in. Automatically Appended Next Post: Announcer wrote:When we played Necromunda back in the day, you would basically know which weapon you wanted your model to end up with and you'd have one waiting. Quite the opposite of what we did locally we build the models painted them and kept them as is, for example model with number 1 was the leader and her (I played Escher) load out was what was in the rooster. Automatically Appended Next Post: And with the books cover we can see the the various Human Spec Ops.

I'm personally thinking that we will not see a Combined Army "SpecOps" in the same sense as we will the humans.
I can't see the Tohaa being the feature of the book cover either, as it would be a bit of a 'spoiler alert!' image.

Both Shasvastii and Morats will get Spec Ops, Tohaa have nothing announced so far.

That sounds like an awesome idea.. something like the board at Maelstrom Games perhaps, filled with Sarissa buildings..

Do Maelstrom Games ship to the Philippines? I've just written to them asking if they are taking pre-orders with the model, as well as offering those army deal discounts, I'll post on here when I hear back anything!

Liking the Aleph Spec-Ops. Assuming the model lives up to the art, I think I'll be getting her. Possibly to convert for Haqq, depending on how amazing the Haqq Spec-Ops is - I think that might be this chap, who's alright, but I think I'd prefer to use him as a Hafza or Halqa.
Of course, doing that with her would then give me a helluva eclectic Haqq army, as the only factions I'm not currently using models from for it are Aleph, CA and Yu Jing - and I'm considering adding a YJ model as well, that'd mean I was using all human factions.
As for Marlene... I'm indifferent right now. Might make a reasonable civvy model, but whether I'd use her depends on the style of the sculpt. If it's of the same style/quality as Cordelia, my only interest in her would be other people's interest in her - i.e. I'd put her up on eBay in a year or two and try and make a few quid.

Oh man the wife shut me down from pre-ordering :( Gas has gone up so much lately that I can hardly afford to pay to get to work! To make money to buy more gas! Talk about a vicious circle. But I digress.
I'm really looking forward to any kind of civilian minis that CB would do. Now maybe people will actually use civilians more.

You, me and a whole lot of other people, I'm thinking!
Especially as it will be an excellent place to get bits for conversions...

Good question - I'm looking for a place in the USA to do the same.
Hopefully The Warstore will be offering the miniature/book pre-order deal?

Not good news yet, talked with Neal and he's mentioned that so far other stores have been offered a "Buy 13 books and get 3 minis" deal but he was still checking his options.
I can understand that is not sustainable for him...
I just wish my other option wasn't spending 40 Euro in shipping...

Any way us USA types could combo up and save on shipping?
Do they offer a "spend (x) and get free shipping" option?
Another option is to e-mail CB directly - they are super responsive, polite, friendly and helpful!

@Emperors_Champion: But, on the other hand, I'm glad they've kept the Spec-ops designs restrained - provided, of course, the models live up to the art. (Addendum: I haven't been able to watch the longer BoW videos due to a limited connection, so if there were reveals in there, I am currently in the dark) Not everyone likes the "most manga" models, and these seem to be taking towards CB's normal compromise of moderate, but not excessive, influences from the style. I'm quite content, and I believe, based on the reception I've seen so far, that most of CB's normal audience will be too - even if their individual (and subjective) tastes would prefer something a bit different. In other news, have any Brits got a shipping quote for just the book? I'd consider pre-ordering, but I'd prefer not to have to sign up for an account on their site to find out what shipping would be.

Our LGS contacted CB as well and got a similar reply. That's a bit disheartening: I guess the figures are really really limited.

I did, the shipping cost is not a typo, but it's also the limit of the shipping, so any additional books will not cost more...
-----
Unless Neal works out something awesome I doubt I will end up with Gogo Marlene. Due to shipping that would make Marlene worth $50.

The folks here in Colorado are doing a combined shipping straight from CB and I've contacted CB to see about the fastest/best way to do the order. If folks here want to get in on it I'll do it on a case by case basis, but be aware you'd be resposible for shipping costs to your location, but only responsible for your fraction of the overseas shipping (which will be really small).
PM me if you are interested. Please don't be offended if I decline your request to join in though as there is a lot of logistics I have to work on my side for this.

Holy hell, some of those are massive game-changers! Getting full knowledge of you opponent's list and being able to determine the Lt. automatically. I can see the tough-but-obvious Lt. choices becoming popular in later parts of the Campaign. The Hsien is certainly looking to be a good option if my opponent goes for the Lt. discovery end of the tree.
I'm interested in seeing more of the Mobile Reserve and Immediate Deployment lines though. Those sound like they may suit my styles.

I guess it IS easier for us older gamers, who remember ordering by mail and having a 6 month wait to be normal.
