IIRC the Cabal was an alien alliance from one of the HH books (Legion?). So maybe GW is finally doing Codex: Micl Aliens?

I'm just excited that the Solitaire is rumored to be coming back. One of the main reasons why I started playing Eldar was because of how cool Harlequins look. (I bought 2 full squads when I first started) I would love to finally have a Harlequin HQ. (I started in 5th ED.)

Well, as I said, I don't want more Space Marine stuff. Regrettably, we will always get more and more because GW want to sell stuff to their (many, many) Space Marine players. Which is presumably why our established fast attack choices are worthless compared with the aforesaid stupid-looking and undercosted flyer.

As an old-school (from 2e) marine player I can totally agree with that.

After some thinking about the Eldar, I wonder if GW is re-using the "Spirit-warrior" name to give to the rumored Eldar Knight. That would put me on cloud nine and I would absolutely buy one. As I said on other places, seeing Nuadhu Fireheart being released after being cut form the latest codex is a good sign that they're putting old Eldar things back into the army, unfortunately I already have one converted up from a Dark Eldar Venom! Plastic Shining Spears and new jetbikes will be nice, as while the bikes look perfectly fine, their riders (especially the Guardians) need a facelift, as their figures looked wooden and bland even in the old days.

I am guessing PL is PLastic and RE is REsin/Finecast?

That's what most of us have been assuming.

I think GW might be doing a Msc Allies suppliment. Sort of a Mercenary Book that can only be taken as an Ally detachment. Filled with various extra units(with individual army restrictions)

Think Dogs of War, but for 40k and unable to be a stand-alone book.

Best idea they've had in years IMO, just like Planetstrike.

Now it all comes down to the execution of this idea... just like Planetstrike.

I think the reason 6th has fortifications is because they weren't selling enough Aegis Defense Lines and Bastions.

Not that I'm complaining mind you. 40k should have had fortifications long ago.

That's a good point, but there have been other Codices in the past that contained lots of options for lots of armies. I still lament the loss of my Lost & The Damned.

And anyone who doesn't believe you only needs to look at what went up in price back in May/June before 6th came out. What's that? All the terrain went up 20%~? Say it ain't so! Almost as if they... planned it that way!

I agree. Fortifications are fun. New terrain is always fun (but I'm bias, I enjoy building terrain, let alone using it). That's why I liked Planetstrike despite it's failings. How else would you explain this. That was only the first batch I got...

Other than the fact that not all of it is built, I built 4 regular Bastions. Two bastions that are twice as tall as a regular one, but have a low level bunker coming off to one side. One Bastion that's twice as tall as a regular one. Four bunkers (no "walls with Heavy Bolters" bits). One big landing pad/fortress that's 2x2 for the main part, with the Skyshield landing pad stick on top, and the same low-level "step" coming off the front (1x2 long). And I've got pieces left to do a single fortress that will use about 7 Bastions worth of parts. Just need to get around to doing it! And I've converted up a bunch of those guns (I have oodles of those Sentry Lascannon things). I've got some with Battlecannons (having lots of spare Russ parts helps), ones with Heavy Flamers, ones with the spare Missile Pods from Valks stuck on - all sorts of things.

As I said - I really like building terrain!

Sheerly out of pure curiosity, why are there two threads on this same topic? And the other one is referenced in the OP, and by a moderator, no less!

That's sound awesome. Would love to see some pics when your done. Better yet will you be doing a tutorial or possibly a video tutorial to shows how you did it?

A lot of times people in News and Rumors want 'just the facts'. If someone asks what are the rules for the Land Avenger (candidate for dumbest name ever?) the answer is we don't know.

This thread is for speculation and guessing.

Ork stuff~ Funz~

This thing reads a little too much like a wishlist for me to buy it. I'll be psyched if I'm wrong though, because that ork section really sounds awesome, and suggests a new codex. But I'm not going to get my hopes up.

Ork Speculation:

Boss-Kommissa Grotzki will almost certainly be a Stormboyz character - possibly replacing Zagstruk?

Nobz and Lootas will also be getting Tellyportas! This means either GoI-style hopping around, or simple terminator-style Deep Striking.

The presence of the Gun Fortress/Mega Tellyporta and the Klan Fort might mean Orks will be getting some army-specific fortifications. The Rokk Launcha is particularly exciting, as it could mean drop pod-style Rokks for deployment.

Gorbuzz ThreeEye - Orky send-up of Sam Fisher for Kommandos, or mutant Weirdboy? Probably the latter.

The new names on the list indicate a new codex in the works - one the one hand, it's a new Ork codex! On the other hand, look what happened to the Necrons. Poor bastards.

I'm also pleased to see the potential return of boars - they're not cyboars (or even actual boars, but now there's an app squig for that), but it's still encouraging.

Im thinking the land avenger will be the tank between the predator and land raider.

I agree that Land Speeder and Land Raider both roll off the tongue, but is Land Avenger really so bad?

I would assume it's just another STC pattern discovered by Land.
