I've had that happen, though not in WoW. Had a Marksman Rogue with no equipment/armor queue up as a tank in Rift. It is indeed rage inducing.

Had something similar happen in Wow back in Wrath when they added the Dungeon Queue.

Dks that were PVP Spec, with Healing Pally armor(Because it looked cool, according to them) tanking H HoR. That place sucked enough without crappy tanks. Was nice to flex my epeen with My Hunter Tanking skills, but it got to the point where I only did Dungeon Queues with a tank that I knew. And I was kinda pissed I couldn't queue as a tank as my hunter, but that would have added a whole new world of migraines.


Speaking of WoW, Cursing more or less okay there on most of the Servers I played on. Some RP servers I played on were a bit too much "Love and Tolerance", which made role playing my Undead PvP DK (Aka, The Undead Red Foreman) a pain, since they took the IC moments personal. But An Undead Death Knight has plenty good reason to be pissed at all times.
To be fair, I normally played on lower Population servers where one guy would have a monopoly on the entire Server Economy and everyone bitched him out over it. Except people that had friends to trade with. But on the lower pop servers, people seemed more laid back about swearing.

WAR wasn't too bad about swearing either. but there's only like two cities in the whole game. And they are usually under siege. Pretty much time spent sitting in the tavern typing swears is time better spent killing that enemy Warband currently burning the tavern down.

Not exactly an MMO but you could look into the various Neverwinter Nights servers and see if there is one that suits your fancy.

I was going to say probably EVE, in terms of it having an apparently older demographic than most other games.

It's always amusing hanging around in the starter areas during promotional/free trial periods, and reading all of the 'OMG this is much more boring than WOW! I'm leaving!' comments, because the game doesn't give you everything on a silver platter instantly.

Although I'm not sure how staggering around the town square drunk would work in that game..

I dont know about other MMOs out there, but wow lets you toggle mature filter, and 90% of people have it off.
Also if you dont overdo the swearing, most people wont care.
Only if you start harassing someone, you might get a mute usually preceded by one or more warnings.

I dont really see the point in this topic, you want an MMO I can swear in but thats the only (or main) thing you care about?

This thread provides solid evidence that being on a high horse hinders reading comprehension.

In WoW generally swearing is allowed. I think trolling in trade is one of the most fun things to do when you are bored.
