Anyone else get buyers remorse? Ebay has become the bane of my existence since my re-immersion into 6th ed 40k. Within the last three days I have spent just under $500....
- $375 for a fully painted Imperial Fist "Deathwing" Army (good deal? I am starting to think not, also I will prob strip them to make them Pre-Heresy DA)
- $100 for a Combo of Wargames Factory/Chimeras for a small IG Veteran Army...
- $175-200 (Steel Legion /Valhallans) pending auction currently
Anyone else feeling me on this? Did I get ripped off? Did I jump the gun a bit? Anyone else have any stories of such shame?!?!?!
Anytime I buy infantry I get buyers remorse, now when I buy tanks I actually do not feel buyers remorse, how odd.
For me it is the other way around. When I buy infantry I think "This platoon of (insert hipster/ironic/uncommon regiment) will stand out and is clearly different from the rest of my army" but when a buy a vehicle I think "Why did I do that? I didn't need it, the biggest difference it will really have is a different paint scheme. I don't even like painting vehicles."

The army looks spray painted yellow and washed over with something. Like someone said it is a solid foundation for a really nice paint job. Also imp fist are cool and the best way to play them is a da codex IMO. Good deal? Sure provided the paint is not think.

Okay, well I got the army, and it is a good looking army, but I think I am just going to have to resell it, I just have a bit too much on my plate right now to justify having this army. I like it very much. The work is pretty good on it, and the painting is good table-top quality! Oh well.

I just got back into 40k after not having played since 3rd edition. On eBay, I purchased a 2500-point DW army that was comprised of 2 IC's, 5 terminator squads, dreadnought, a LRC and two LR's. It also included codex and Sabol's army transport case and motor pool case. The figs were assembled and base coated only. I think I got a good deal, paid $325 for the lot. I picked up two more terminator squads on eBay as well. I don't have buyer's remorse, but I'm in for about $400 now myself.

I only recently started bidding on Ebay. I'm trying really hard not to freak out on how much I've spent. I never meant to! I just found the bidding process addictive to the point of insanity. It didn't help that I won my first few auctions. Now considering selling a hell of a lot of stuff to recover money...
Good thing is that I've weaned myself off bidding, having no money really helps!

Last friday I bought a Talos/Cronos and 2x boxes Kabalite Warriors.
Today I bought 2 Islands of Blood sets and 2 HE spearmen boxes.
Total spent? $140.
Thank goodness for liquidation sales.

I'm only having the littlest buyers remorse over Sedition Wars, mostly because I am out of a job right now and we are living on my wife's income as a teacher. I plan to mitigate that though, by selling of my copy of Space Hulk 3e. I figure I can get $100 for it, which not only is what I paid for it when it came out, but is also 2/3 of what I spent on Sedition Wars, which will get far more playtime (I actually have never gotten around to playing my copy of SH).
It's a bummer going from a steady income to a fixed one, because there are lots of things I'd like to get for games, like more metal Aspect warriors for my fledgling Eldar, another BFG fleet, one of those Kromlech Marine jetbikes, etc.

Sure... where to start....
About 2 weeks before they were released in finecast I bought 2 Screaming Skull Catapults which I tried to build one and shelved the army out of frustration.
I gave away my chaos space marines to a relative who played half a game with me and has not touched them since, so when I look at the new starter I want to cry as I could have a sizable force with it.
Bought 9 kanz about 6 months before 6th came out so no leaks yet, got backed up and never finished them, now the urge to is failing due to the nerf to them.
But this is offset by a few things such as picking up a used goblin army for about 1/3 the cost of it and buying some 50 horms 50 terms and 16 'stealers on sprue with bio upgrades for $100

Thus, After having thus successively taken each member of the community in its powerful grasp and fashioned him at will, the supreme power then extends its arm over the whole community. It covers the surface of society with a network of small complicated rules, minute and uniform, through which the most original minds and the most energetic characters cannot penetrate, to rise above the crowd. The will of man is not shattered, but softened, bent, and guided; men are seldom forced by it to act, but they are constantly restrained from acting. Such a power does not destroy, but it prevents existence; it does not tyrannize, but it compresses, enervates, extinguishes, and stupefies a people, till each nation is reduced to nothing better than a flock of timid and industrious animals, of which the government is the shepherd

When I ebay for 40K, I deliberately look for the auctions with horribly painted models. Often, I can get a great deal and all it usually takes to strip the paint is a few squirts of Dawn Power Dissolver and a toothbrush.

I've not yet had any buyers remorse, but I've only spent... errrr Maybe £400 over 4 months on the hobby? Wahey, that's actually inside my budget, and I still have loads to paint! I always thought I was spending more than I actually was. Probably my alcohol problem is what's leaving me near the black.

Yeah, booze is an expensive vice!!! I take months off here and there and am always surprised by how much extra money I have.
