Thanks! It was actually (aside from the staff) one my my best experiences with Finecast so far. Its a very sturdy model design as the leg and cloak (let's be honest, its a skirt) come as one piece. I think I just had an interesting idea for the voltaic staff. The Skaven model for the IOB set's rod thingy or the runtherd staff from the gretchin box. Hmm, let me see if I can find a pic:

not a great pic, but I do have one laying around We'll see what happens!

 Its Doom/Night Scythe time folks
If you've been reading my earlier stuff you know that I've had a bunch of vehicles kind of standing by on the shelves waiting for a spot of glue and a lick of paint. I've been terrified to try again because I wasn't happy with the results I got painting my Monolith, don't take short cuts trying to spray it all with metal spray paint! So I started slow with the Scythe and really thought a few things out.
I liked the black and green paint scheme from the codex because it always looked so clean. However I wanted to make it mine. In an earlier post you can see how I started with the little croissant wedges. All Drybrushing with a large drybrush, first I started with Caliban Green, followed by Snot Green, then finally by Moot Green. I then used watered down Moot green to pick out all of the edges, and it really made them pop.
Seen here while I was attaching the magnets.
For 50 bucks or however much I paid (eBay is awesome btw) I figured I would get as much utility as possible so I'm magnetizing it. I'm not worried about connecting all the tubes and what not as the magnet is VERY strong. The magnet actually broke superglue bond (strong but brittle bond) for the portal gateway so I've currently got it clamped with Gorilla glue, and that WILL NEVER come off
The Magnet attached like it was made to be there, seen above with a bit of plastic dust.
Here's a shot of the Tesla Destructor with just its initial coats of Caliban Green and Snot Green. Note: Caliban Green is great for basecoats while its predecessor Dark Angels Green is much thicker and more suited or drybrushing!
A quick shot of the blending I did to represent the flowin of energy through the various conduits on the model. You guessed it layers of Caliban Green -> Snot Green -> Goblin Green -> Scorpion Green!
The small front panel, added little white details later, not shown here.
When gluing magnets on I find that they're much easier to manage (and keep track of the poles) if you glue in groups. Just be careful not to use too much glue because you could glue two magnets together, and these things aren't exactly cheap.
For the Finished product (or mostly finished since I still have to paint the gateway and Deathray) I added some line highlights to the black bits to make the edges glow a bit with corners getting the lightest shades of green. Oh and I almost forgot, those black parts are actually 2:1 mix of basecoat black and caliban green, you can just barely make it out in the pictures but its very subtle in person as well.
Last but certainly not least is the model's base. Its typical when compared to the rest of my army, but I have 4 boxes of Battlefield in a Box's Warped Stone so I figured I'd use them for basing too, instead of just terrain. Its almost done, just need to gloss to make sure the ballast stays put. Also, that space is there for a model to stand in representing whatever unit happens to be "embarked" on the Scythe whenever I'm fielding it as a transport.
Overall, I'm very happy with the outcome of this model and I think I'll employ a similar scheme to my other Scythes, Arks and Barges. I'm no longer afraid to work on my vehicles so expect to see more in the future. Also, look forward to some more on the tabletop pics because today is games day!!!

Got some work done on the Flayed One Lord
So I got the spikes into the head (yes, they are pinned) with some lovely skulls. I believe these are Dark Eldar Bits, I know the skulls on straps are DEFINITELY Dark Eldar bits.
Side view of the swinging skulls.
A pic of the other side with the spiney spikes upon which a tyranid skull is impaled (chaos bit).
Finally I watered down some liquid green stuff and started filling gaps. Soon enough it'll be priming time!
As I stated earlier today game day finally arrived today and I have some photos on the 'Crons on the table. I played with two relatively new players one who was playing chaos, the other orks.
Anrakyr often subs in for a Necron Lord with Warscythe as he did above
First time fielding my Doom Sycthe, which just didn't seem fair in a 500 point game. I gaussed his Hellbrute to death, and the Deathray and Tesla Destructors made quick work of his chosen. Following that however my flyer spent the game trying to circle back to draw a bead on some cultists, but unfortunately it took to long :(
wide shot of most of the battlefield.
A cool closeup of my immortals manning a ridgeline on a piece of really awesome looking terrain!
My scarabs more than killed their fair share of points, taking out a looted wagon, 1 trukk and 4 boys (Kaboom).
That's right, he pressed dat! Careening into my Destroyer Lord I make a Death or Glory Attack, and Explode his Looted wagon (thank you autohit)
A different viewpoint.
Had a great day playing and while my main focus is the hobby side, I'm really enjoying the gaming side of the hobby as well. Thanks for reading Folks!

Haha, get some rest the internet will still be here in the morning. I agree I don't want it to be too busy either, and there's already a lot of skulls haha. I just wanted feedback and to hear everyone's opinions, this guy is kind of a community thing and I want to do him justice. Anyway for his left arm, I removed the normal hand and stuck another Flayed One hand on it so that its curled towards him. I'll get some sticky tac and put some poses together this week.

So I greenstuffed the entirety of the back cape thing complete with small tears/holes and edges that look like they've been sliced off. I used the fleshcape flayed one model from the finecast set just released to get inspiration.
Two Spartan wrote:You could green-stuff his loincloth and cape to look like flesh to tie him in.
You know I'd been thinking about doing this. And it makes sense, he doesn't want baubles of livery to show off his status as a lord anymore, he wants the most and best flesh. I'll get to work on this right away

Today I broke ground on my Realm of Battle Gameboard that I bought new on eBay for about $270. Your first question is probably something along the lines of "why spend so much on something like that when all of the game stores have boards to play on?" So, I have numerous answers... First of all, I love the character of the GW board, the stone, the texture and the SKULLS! Haha, but seriously its a sturdy well modeled board. Second, I don't mind supporting GW if it means they'll be around to make more awesome miniatures. Finally (cliche incoming) last but not least, I travel a lot for my job and this is the first part of a project that will end with not only the gameboard but a collapsible 8x5 foot table with 6x4 foot inlay for said tiles. So in the end I'll have a board and table (5x4 when folded) that I can take with me to visit family or to show off at a new FLGS. Either way, they see me rollin' they hatin'.
First step, acquire gameboard. Which at a $300 price tag is no easy feat, but as discussed above this is something I've been wanting for some time now
Step 2, choose what kind of ground or texture you want, or just keep the boards default texture. I like its default texture, but I'm building a Tomb World here, its got to be a bit more rocky and sandy! So I chose the fine ballast that you can get at most hobby stores, this tub got me through each of the 6 2x2 ft tiles.
Now, make your glue mix. I made mine with a 1:1 mix of Elmer's white glue (Lowes or Home Depot or a Crafts store, etc will sell you large quantities) and water. Be sure to soak your brush in water before you dip it in your concoction and it will make clean up much easier. I mixed it in an old milk jug that I cut so that all that was left of the upper portion was the handle. Made using this very convenient, just have to make sure my wife doesn't think its trash and throw it away
Apply your mixture of water and glue and lightly sprinkle your ballast on the board. If you plan on flocking your board with grass you'll of course want to wait until you've done all the painting parts, haha, as if you didn't already know. Its best to keep a sheet of something or other under what your sprinkling to catch the excess, doing this saves you money because ballast is 15 bucks a tub!
Mostly done now, I finished the last two while these were drying.
For colors I've chosen the Tomb World obligatories, Colors mostly match Caliban Green and Warlock Purple, and I haven't decided as to whether or not I will be using the florescent green paint, or if I'll just use the vast amount of scorpion green I have laying around. We shall see won't we?
One more thing, when these guy is all painted up and good to go (finish and all) I plan to fill the skull pits with resin to make a sort of water affect, but it also has the added benefit of being easier for your models to stand on. I'm either going to use this resin with some green dye mixed in for tint or I'll use some water affects mix I have laying around and then I'll give it a coat or two of Waywatcher Green.
Glad you guys stopped by to check things out, waiting on some clay shapers before I do more work on the Flayed One Lord, but stay tuned! Thanks for reading

 Greetings once again Necron Fans
Today I'm giving you guys an update on my Tomb World Realm of Battle Board and things are taking shape nicely. I've got one tile complete, 5 more needing a little bit more work. Then its on to paint my Wraiths!!!!
But first, a few things from various trades and ebay!
x20 Warriors
x3 Destroyers
x4 Pariahs (I like the models, not sure what I'll do with them yet)
x1 Necron Lord (metal)
x1 Destroyer Lord (cuz they're awesome!!!)
x5 Scarab Bases
All for some Orks I had laying around the house. As seen above, they're currently in a tub, now doused with Simple Green (which I highly recommend for stripping acrylic from plastic models). The Pariahs and Lord are awaiting a dip with my OOP Flayed Ones in some Acetone I have (best for stripping metal models). I have a lot of models on deck waiting for their paintjobs. I think I want to paint my wraiths next, followed by finishing the gun arms of some 30+ warriors I have. Either way I'm staying on target with my board
Something I've been wanting to get into lately is WHFB, and I made my initial purchase of the BRB, and now the first part of my Orcs and Goblins Army. Lots of Night Goblins, still trying to acquire some Orc Boys
Now onto the Tomb World:
So, once I had the sand primed I realized it was sort of a harsh transition from the sandy parts to the normal board texture so in order to better blend them together I used a stone texture spray, which made the texture a bit better. I then painted the sandy-ish bits purple, as seen below:
Eventually I went over the purple with a neon green and finally another coat of black, because it was just abrasive on the senses to see so much green, not to mention the purple just didn't look right. Next part was making the stone bits look like weirdly glowing green stone.
This was accomplished by going over the hunter green primer with Snot Green/Warpstone Glow using a large drybrush, followed by a liberal drybrush of Scorpion Green. Please keep in mind the flash has really saturated the colors in these pics, they're actually a tad bit more subtle.
Choose to do this board first to get a handle on how I would do the skulls on the other tiles. First I gave them a coat of Skull White, then two liberal washes of Thraka Green, followed by a Waywatcher Green Glaze on the lower portions of the skull. Bubbles in the eye sockets dried leaving a tiny white mote of light in each socket. Since its interesting I left them as is. (the flash makes the white spots seem bigger than they actually are.
Well that's it for today at least. I'm going to try and finish this up this weekend, so if I do I'll post the finished product. Thanks for checking it out guys!

Hey guys, got some time to work on the hobby this week, and man does it feel good to relax with some plastic and a paint brush
First up, had a chance to do some greenstuffing on the Flayed One Lord, and while he may be a bit too busy, this conversion was just so much fun to do.
Finally after getting a chance to try them out on the tabletop I decided I had to get my Wraiths painted now! People would be seeing them a lot more from now on.
I started with the metal bits, my typical method of Warlock Bronze (Tin Bitz), Boltgun Metal (Leadbelcher) followed by a heavy brown wash. I'm holding out on the final black wash as I decide whether or not to go over them with one more coat of Necron Compound, what do you guys think?
Next up was the green parts of the carapace, Caliban->Warpstone Glow->Moot Greens, going to finish it all up later tonight with a Thraka Green Wash Still trying to decide whether or not to gloss that part, thoughts?
Oh and one more little bonus, I had some extra 40mm bases and some older warriors, so I figured I'd put together some Objective markers!
The idea was this goop the warriors are stuck in has both prevented their teleportation AND they're self-destruction. So this dormant Necron technology is just waiting to be acquire by some techno-fetishist Mechinicum Priest. But the 'Crons can't have that so they have to take it back.
First step was the base, I used Gorilla Glue because it foams up quite nicely, but still has a smooth finish.
Next, chop up the obligatory unfortunate warrior, its okay if you chop off some extra limbs, the more battle damage the better!
Then give it a quick dip in H2O, which activates the GG so it foams up
I'll slap some paint on them for next time. So I'm getting a bit ahead of myself here, and I was wondering what you guys would like to see next:
Catacomb Command Barge
x4 Necron Lords
x32 Warriors (arms, essentially)
x10 Gauss Immortals
x3 Ghost Arks
x2 Doom/Night Scythes
x5 Deathmarks
Let me know what you guys wanna see

I've never actually played Command & Conquer (not really good at the computer strategy games, unless they're turn based, can't think quick enough) so I wish I knew more what you were talking about.
I should have an update on the objective markers soon, this shift is tough on hobby town but I have a three day weekend coming up where I should make progress
