Just remember how easily they now die in close combat. A DA opponent of mine with 6 Speeders + SC speeder did forget and DSed close to my Grey Hunters...it was messy for him

This new Jink save they get means they've actually survived a couple of turns. The other great thing is that the new reserve rules mean they will come in and do their job early in the game on a more regular basis.
Amen to this. This has been my experience with them too.
With the new shooting rules, the MM/ MM Speeders have been great too. Even coming out of DS!

I love using Typhoon + Multi-Melta Speeders alongside my bikes. To be honest they seem expensive for Codex Spess Mahreens at 100pts but that's only because other codexes do them for less. It is a lot of fire power and manoeuvrability for 100pts and i've found them to be very successful.
Peace Out!
Jonny!

Some good ideas in this thred for using my LS typhoon better - Thanks!
Still I'm going to have to leave my LSS on the shelf in 6th. Many rules changes have nerfed it into uselessness:
No assault after outflank
No disembarking if moved more than 6" (can't drop off the scouts and HF the target squad)
Can't score is still embarked.
Shame - cause it was the winning unit in many games in 5th

I'm going to post it up again- Locator bacon drop pods+MM/HF speeders are a strong, simple combination that is easy to pull off and not fun to defend against. 2 dread pods, 1 tac squad pod. Drop the dreads aggressively for target saturation/distraction/in your face threat (ironclads work best). When your speeders arrive, DS accurately around the bacon and MM/HF tanks and inf.

I run three of them in a squadron with the Typhoon Launcher/Heavy Bolter. They are capable of killing one Transport a turn, leaving those inside open to my Grey Hunters and Long Fangs. I just keep them in the back field as a “Fire Support” “Fire Brigade”, moving them form one place to the next where the Firepower is needed most. I think of this set up as having 3 AH-64 Apache Long Bows.
I had a game with the three Typhoons, Long Fangs [2x LC, 2x ML, 2x HB] and a Rifleman Dread and I just Brutalized a “Dreadnaught/Razorback SPAM List.

? time to youtube methinks... never heard of it. I'm an oldschool NS player
y'know... build phasegate, bacon+shotgun rush? "Oh crap we're about to lose, they're bacon rushing our hive!"
Being that annoying little skulk munching on their res node till you hear the wailing of the bacon klaxxon, slip out a vent and tell the other team to enjoy their delicious bacon?
Or BF3. Set up bacons behind enemy lines for awesome deployment actions. Use the bacon to parachute onto buildings. Bacon's especially useful in hardcore, since you can only spawn on the squad leader- and bacons.
mmmmm. Now I'm going to go cook some bacon.
