Ohh yes, I can't believe I forgot the Sternguard. I agree completely, they look amazing.

Glad we can agree and I also forgot to add that I also have a special place in my gamer hearth for the assault terminator kit

Terrible GW photo, but this guy's my favorite:

I <3 Lictors.

I'm also a fan of the Wraithguard and WraithLord. Not a fan of GW's paintjob, but the models are awesome. I don't even play eldar and own a couple Wraithguard just to paint them.

GW is terrible at taking photos.

Oh, of course, wraithlord. They were actually the unit that got me into 40k in the first place (I saw an epic scale one and was hooked), and I'm pretty sure I'm not alone in this regard.

I just can't see you as an Eldar player. And here I thought you were a noble Imperial Guard commander, when instead you were a filthy xeno this whole time!

*And then I remember I play orks. Oh well, we all make mistakes *

As for me, the leman russ kit. It's just a giant brick of guns and steel. Plus, nothing is quite like knowing you have one of the best tanks of the game, and it's basically a tractor with guns on it.

Yes, I must admit, I was a teenager once too.

It gets even better, of course. My first army was eldar, and was comprised solely of unit that I thought looked cool and were easy to paint. There is nothing in that statement that fails to ooze regret...

I've still got my, what, 750 point eldar army laying around, though. In my current league, you got points for every painted/converted mini that you own. They got busted out for the first time in a gaming store since 2002.

I suppose that's the neat thing about 40k minis - they're a durable good. Odds seem rather long that I'd ever get back into eldar now. Still a lot of stuff in metal makes them expensive. Still with a crappy codex would make it a challenge, but I've already got my hands full with foot guard right now.

Plus, I'm not a teenager anymore, so an army that seems to be based around being emo is less appealing. But I digress...

Seems like GW is always coming out with new "favorite models" for me. Honestly, the new starter set minis really caught my eye.

I believe the two that are tied for my favorite would be the DA Librarian and the Chaos Lord.

Before that, my favorite model was probably the old metal kommando nob. His pose oozes confidence, big lobster power klaw in his hand, and a beautifully lit cigar hanging from the side of his mouth.

The first model I ever fell in love with was Maugan Ra, it was the first special character I ever bought (all the way back in 2nd) and I thought he looked like a boss with his Maugetar. That, and my friends used to deride me mercilessly for playing coneheads (Eldar, naturally) and Maugan Ra nipped that in the bud!

Well, not really because the rest of the army was still packing their signature helmets.

For me it is down to the IG valkyrie, this beast got me hooked into the game to begin with. I also love the forge world models of the lightning and thunderbolt fighters (okay, guess you can see a pattern emerging here). Then it would be the classic IG stormtroopers with the berets, they were just space SAS (sploosh)

My favorite model in 40K? It's the one my opponent removes as a casualty when I'm playing against them.
