That DakkaJet

Yoink!

"Ask ten different scientists about the environment, population control, genetics, and you'll get ten different answers, but there's one thing every scientist on the planet agrees on. Whether it happens in a hundred years or a thousand years or a million years, eventually our Sun will grow cold and go out. When that happens, it won't just take us. It'll take Marilyn Monroe, and Lao-Tzu, and Einstein, and Morobuto, and Buddy Holly, and Aristophanes…then all of this…all of this…was for nothing. Unless we go to the stars." I'll try to add more WIP pics for my next dakkajet. Canards + Rear delta(ish) was pretty straight forward- just cutting and puttying- and not a lot of custom gubbinz. The aft end of the fuselage got smoothed down so the wings could be attached. I used the supershoota bit that has bullets coming out of the top of the wing for the third gun on the nose and just filled in the space with putty. I'll take more pics from different angles after I throw some paint on it.

where are you finding all of these pieces?

That dakkajet is just a kit conversion. No kit bashing required. The gun coming out of the nose and the exhaust tips next to the cockpit are just styrene tubes.

My next one will be mostly scratchbuilt with dakkajet kit pieces

Ah, the tubing is Plastruct brand styrene(plasticard) tubing (3.2mm) for the barrels plus the next size up for accent. You can get them online or from your local hobby store.

The railguns on the broadsides were made with zipties and 1mm styrene card stock for detail.

Well, I decided to start my last construction project (for reals this time) and THEN sit down and paint everything all at once... Here comes my Dakkajet-F18!

I guess this thread has become more of an Tau+Ork army project beyond just modeling that initial detachment... oh well

My OCD sense started tingling so I threw a quick paintjob on the first dakkajet. Now back to construction.

Simply great looking stuff.

The clean white Tau tech contrasts nicely with the Greenskins, who usually get stuck in mud covered rusty stuff.

Sigh... a sad sad time period indeed. I sold my gargant and offered to finish painting it for free. I do enjoy painting but it's making the sale harder and harder.

My Orks and Ork-Tau are still on ebay, but my Tyranids, Space Marines, and this poor fella are off to new homes.

Here are some updates!

Devilfish / Battle Wagon 1.

If I were keeping the army I would be tempted to make more, but now I'm just wrapping up the unfinished projects to encourage sale.

I thought I had an open mind.

That mix is heresy!!!

My most feared combination of Ork and Tau ( ) but I was thinking Allies NOT this unholy blend!
