i don't even know what to say anymore. your freehand work is getting really good! and overall this guy looks amazing. the one thing i would suggest though, and this is something that i am also currently learning, is your OSL on the plasma gun. i think that you have the first step done right, it's just blending it in to look more like light than excess green paint. but the effect is still there. great work!
p.s. - i will be posting pics sometime next week of things that i have been working on since following your progress. i am an extremely slow painter, but motivated, especially seeing art like this.

aye, showing that around to other people they said similar things about the plasma, gonna be touching that up so it's more than watered down moot green, and glad to know seeing mine and others work is motivating you, all I could really ask from my work is getting others to try things!

got my parts from the fine folks at Anvil industries and I've got to admit, considering the price o these parts these are some really high quality pieces!
my photos don't really do them justice especially considering that the one head only post 60p! go check them out! http://www.anvilindustry.co.uk/
Danny, mate, this stuff looks Brutakular indeed! (love that word)
If you need more examples of ancient greece symbolism let me know. I have a gazillion pictures (self made) of some opf the bigger ruins on Crete, and that there ancient king Mythos used Minotaurs and Bull symbols on just about everything. You might get some more ideas off those. Looking at some of your models they would greatly benefit from some of the more obscure things I've seen there.
Anyways... exhalted, subbed, and amazed mate!
Eh...
Inmygravenimage: That's sweet dude. I bet her ass is bad...
Camkierhi - What a load of rubbish... Amazing!
Rogue Wolves - Its rediculous how much character you pack into those guys
Skalk Bloodaxe: I know those will be awesome when finished, but right now they look like crackers.
Necro-pocalypse weirdness:

Many thanks for the offer! may have to take you up on it when it comes to doing the razorback (as well as a possible landraider in the future)
Any time mate... pm me your email addy and you'll get all the Minoan imagery you'll ever need. Heck, there's even pictures of Minos himself, and his son Minotaur the way the greeks saw him

My Chapter would be proud to battle foul Xenos alongside yours!
"Some players have a hard time distinguishing between a cheesy army and a balanced army used effectively."
Sayings from the Old World: "A Dwarf army is like a well-crafted mail shirt; each warrior is an iron-hard link, knitted together by duty, honour, and loyalty. And, like a mail shirt, never a blow shall pass them as long as all the links remain strong.”
This army makes me happy. The Greek pottery art idea is simply awesome. That Techmarine biker is pretty slick, and your glowing source light-y effects are cool and well done. Only thing I'd like to see added are finished bases. Nice stuff my dude!
So very glad you guys are enjoying my work! shall try my best not to dissapoint in future!
got the parts from Bitzbox this morning so I was able to (mostly) assemble the Spartan Vanguard squad! (though I'm still missing the jump packs and glaives that I ordered from maxmini, but those parts hafta travel further so it's understandable)
The Sergeant (shall have a relic blade once I'm done)
Hittin' last buddies!
and the sword fighters
It's not the most competitive set up, but then again I'm not the most competitive gamer. Plus as a little bonus the squad hits about 300 points so thats a nice little reference when I play these guys, it'll keep me amused atleast
Another Minotaurs player! I'm am totally subscribed.

super glad people are liking this stuff, sorry I haven't posted for a bit, Uni work has to be higher priority unfortunately
got my parts from maxmini so old school jump packs for the vanguard and a relic blade for the sargent, I've only managed to get one of the power sword guys done, but I'll post the other guys as I finish
also with the new chaos stuff I'm kinda tempted to start a small iron warriors army to work along side this one, some grimy industrial dudes to contrast the shiny old school look of the Minotaurs
and something appropriate to tide you guys over if I disappear again
slowly working through stuff, but I managed to make a nice little conversion to help act as a melee wrecking ball for the iron warriors
see you when I can!
Been wanting to do more character conversions for my Minotaurs and I have found a fair few greek characters that could translate well into some of the marine special characters, ripe for some conversion work! read more for anyone mad enough to delve into my ramblings
so we start off with Marneus Calgar as Hercules twin power fists seems appropriate for herculean strength
Achilles works well for Captain Sicarius as both are renowned generals and both are pretty tough (sicarius having 2+ armour 4+ invun and feel no pain)
Kor'sarro Khan as Orion mostly because they're both hunters
Vulkan He'stan as promethius because FIRE FIRE FIRE (also the association between promethius and science linking with vulkans status as forge father)
Kayvaan Shrike as Icarus mostly because they both fly, but I could also use shrikes overall idea of being stealthy as an excuse to model a "post-fall" Icarus
Pedro Kantor as Philoctetes, phil being an archer and pedro armed with dorns arrow, also could explain pedros "inspiring presence" in his rules as, you always work harder when teachers around, as phil is known as the trainer of heroes
and finally Darnath lysander, as the spartan general Lysander,(maybe Ares) nothing else to it really
