Posted this in the news but I guess that doesn't count.

I'm one of the Veterans interview in the story. (Corum)

When I was interviewed it really seemed like the writer was genuinely interested in learning about the hobby and didn't have any condescending preconceptions about the community. Being in the journalism community as well (photographer) it was really nice to talk to him without feeling like I needed to be defensive about my hobby.

I've been active duty military for over 21 years and have played 40k for most of it.

Killian, you ever play Mike Taylor up your way? Iron Fist League dude and also in the Army. Just wondering.

Journalism is in a real sad state at this point. Most of the news stories are actually advertisements. Take for example the 'news' about the new iphone.

The fact that the article does not even mention another modern wargame certainly suggests that it is nothing more than an ad. It certainly has a huge amount of GW name dropping in the first paragraph. It also describes NOVA as a Warhammer convention, when they clearly cater to many games including Warmahordes, Flames of War, Malifaux, and Infinity.

I like that quote about WWII, and I may need to sig that. Except maybe the part about the kamikazes, but then again no one sees using planes as bombs coming, except my grandpa. He refused to fly in passenger airliners from his experience in WWII, said with all the fuel on board they were big flying bombs waiting to go off. Anyways I'm ranting, I'll stop.

Admiral Chester W Nimitz wrote:The war with Japan had been re-enacted in the game rooms here by so many people and in so many different ways, that nothing that happened during the war was a surprise.

The name rings a bell but I'm horrible with names and great with faces so I'm sure I would recognize him. I've played in a bunch of Tournaments up here and have probably run into him.
