Pyromancy+tzeentch got a pretty damn good chance of it. Even 4 pyromancy powers would do it, as there's only one buff in their (last time i looked, could be wrong )
You can only take up to half of your powers from the same discipline.
Only from the disciplines of the gods. Plz to check your codex if your only content to your post is "your wrong"
That's correct. However, you also have to take at least one power from your marked god's list, so getting 4 rolls in any one table is not going to happen. You can still get 3 rolls on a non-chaos table, however.

In Boxing matches, you actually get paid to take a dive and make the other guy look good.
In Warhammer 40K, you're expected to pay cash out of your pocket for the privilege of having Marines and IG trample all over your Xenos/Chaos. |

Touche!
hmmmmmm. Still more than likely going to get 3 witchfire powers for Ahriman. But the randomness of it is a bit meh. Its a pipedream, I know, but Ahriman being able to pick his powers at will...so powerful

I think that smite (or leach life if you roll it), psychic shriek, and 2 rolls from tzeentch might be the best guaranteed fire power you can run with him. All popping out the top hatch of a rhino.

You have to remember all the schools Ahriman has access to have a witchfire primaris. So you can take roll on tzeentch, biomancy, and telepathy if you don't roll something you like take the primaris. Then you get one extra roll try to get anything you missed. At worst you get Smite, Shriek, Firestorm, and one random power. And you only take Firestorm if you roll Boon, and aren't into that.

Thousand Sons for me are great, the fact that inferno bolts are ap3... and around 75% of the armys out there are marine armies. Not only this but they are hard to deal with as they have a 4+ invo save to make them even more resilient, the resilience of there guys and the fact that they are fearless they can definintly hold up some units for a while in a stage of the game where combat plays a more dominant role. In other cases such as fighting Orks then I would consider noise marines, they get 3 shots yeah but very limited in movement. If you move you are reduced to half range 12" with just 2 shots rather than 3 this mean unless you infiltrate these there losing allot of shots also keeping in mind the amount you will kill most units still getting standard saves.
In comparisin thousand sons for me wins.. they are more reliable as most of the time I fight a marine army so that ap3 shot that i can always fire with no limitations other than the weapons range and rapid fire at half range gaining the same amount of shots as a unit of noise marines that moved but at ap3 instead of ap5 sounds good to me.
Now the fact that they have a sorcerer as a unit champion level 1 so not the best as this is 1 spell from the Tzeentch spells. For me the spell I look forward to getting is boon of mutation! alot of fun. every turn you can roll on this boon chart to potentialy make your champion more killy, the fact that you have to issue challanges this helps alot. The last 2 games I played was 4k points of Chaos Space Marines I ran 3 units of Thousand sons some of them got boon of mutation and I ended up with 2 deamon princes 2 games in a row!! these daemon princes are standard and not great but they are scary to the opponent and will allow you to soak up some firepower for free basicaly and if not well that daemon prince will charge some unit to chop them up.
Throw in a dark apostile for those rerolls on the boon chart and you may end up with a unit champion to be rekoned with.

A buddy of mine is running a list with 4 squads of 9 Thousand Sons each, and let me tell you, as a general troops choice these guys are a pain to drag down and can dish out plenty of firepower.
The biggest problem IMO is that they can't fire Overwatch because they are Slow & Purposeful.
IMO they could still work well to hold one of your back field objectives, as AP3 bolters in addition to a 3+/4++ is nasty. But I think they should only have slow/purposeful if their aspiring sorceror is dead. Personally though I find them very expansive and not worth it to take as your only troop due to their lack of overwatch which would be dirty as hell for a 15man unit
