Right, already handled that. No Cult troops and, as the gears turn in my head, probably no cultists either. The only real actual models that are kinda oddball are a Helldrake and Forgefiend, still trying to figure out how they fit in to the narrative

Maulerfiend = posessed penitent engine?

Forgefiend = posessed penitent engine with guns?

Helldrake = FLYING posessed penitent engine!

I'm not sure really fir them model-wise.

The Drake is simple because I am one of the heretics who really likes it. So yeah that isn't too much issue. But ad far as the fiend goes, I'm more neutral. I don't hate it and I'd happily use it, but id happily use a conversion as well. But how to make a forgefiend fit this kind of theme is the issue.

Daemon engines really fit with any theme. They are basically mercenaries. The Daemonforge hires them out to the highest bidder. So you really need no reason beyond "My Chaos Lord purchased their services from the Daemonforge for 10,000 slaves apiece"

Self-proclaimed evil Cat-person. Dues Ex Felines

Cato Sicarius, after force feeding Captain Ventris a copy of the Codex Astartes for having the audacity to play Deathwatch, chokes to death on his own D-baggery after finding Calgar assembling his new Eldar army.

Wow Lynata thanks for the info about the corrupted Sister, I never knew that existed...

before the codex came out I was toying with the idea of using a sister of battle as the leader for the chaos cultists....that was before I saw the limited options a cultist leader could have *sad face*

however I might use a Canoness as a Dark Apostle and I'll have to take deeper into Miriael

Looking forward to the opening of 40k: The Musical

Sister Superior Miriael is the one Fallen Sister I actually accept into my personal interpretation of the setting, despite her non-GW origin. Wish they'd "adopt" her, actually, like they did with Gaunt's Ghosts.
I guess to me it's that her character design just does it "right" - clearly showing her as a badass dark "femme fatale" rather than just a slutty cultist in power armour. A capable and fearsome warlord whose attempts at seduction, if they are made at all, are guaranteed to creep you out.

Also, in my mind a single exception from the rule still preserves the Sororitas purity angle (one of their most important themes imho), and if anything only serves as a small reminder that even Sisters are, in the end, "only human". At least on some level...

Anyways, you're welcome! ^_^

For mine, I'm thinking along the same lines of a ranking Sister as the army's Dark Apostle.

In the warband's fluff, she is the oratory muscle, the one who spreads heresy not through subtle means, but by fiery rhetoric that can whip a mob into ravening cultists, or her own retainers into champions of Chaos. Of course that is not to say she wages battles with words alone, her maul (Black Mace) and flame (Burning Brand) can hammer a point home just as adequately as her speech.

Space Marines can have multi-lasers. You just have to go back a few editions, lol.

Marneus Calgar is referred to as "one of the Imperium's greatest tacticians" and he treats the Codex like it's the War Bible. If the Codex is garbage, then how bad is everyone else?
