You have good taste. Lebanese cuisine is my favourite. (and it's actually very healthy, if you can find a place that makes everything in-house.)

Kebab and chips after a night on the beer... that's practically HEALTH FOOD.

My favourite pub in Dublin was beside an amazing kebab place. Hard to resist when you've been out drinking.

Worse, their only other restaurant in the city was 5 minutes from my old flat, so I had to resist temptation TWICE on the way home, rather than once

Your a brave , brave man . I needed at least 6 snakebites in me to consider watching the greasy tube-o-mystery meat get sliced up . Also , olives ? Is this some fancy posh delux kebab or something ?

Right now I would sell someones soul for a KFC bucket . It's been so long since I had some , I have vivid fantasies about it being made from actual chickens .

Pretty much this, except you can forget the kebab bit, and just shove the donner meat in a tray with a side of chips. I regularly eat that sober, since I don't drink

Mandorallen turned back toward the insolently sneering baron. 'My Lord,' The great knight said distantly, 'I find thy face apelike and thy form misshapen. Thy beard, moreover, is an offence against decency, resembling more closely the scabrous fur which doth decorate the hinder portion of a mongrel dog than a proper adornment for a human face. Is it possibly that thy mother, seized by some wild lechery, did dally at some time past with a randy goat?' - Mimbrate Knight Protector Mandorallen.

I wouldn't mind a doner myself. I've seen greek places around here and a couple pita places, but nary a doner shop to be found. They got me through a lot of tough times back in germany.

Mine is cheese curds. I just...can't resist them. I know they're terrible for me - I mean, FFS, it's pieces of cheese that are battered and deep fried. But by god, are they tasty.

There's a place near me that makes Pepperjack cheese curds.

That said, I made some ridiculous chili dogs like an hour ago... like a meat 'splosion, with onions and cheese.

Apples and Oranges. In-N-Out is the best cheap burger you'll get. Five Guys is the best in the price category up one notch (beats Red Robin easy). I have a developed a large, Steak N Shake-shaped whole in my heart though. Them and Carl's Jr are just nommy :d

See I'd put Five Guys in the same price category as In-N-Out, Red Robin's a full on sit down meal with prices to match. A Five Guys artery clogger with fries isn't that much more then a double double combo at in and out.

So, any Americans care to recommend good fast food outlets for me to try when I pop over for a visit in a couple of weeks?

Depends on your region really Alby...

Hardees/Carls Jr. are usually pretty good.
Arby's is well up there.
If your region has them, hit up Jersey Mike's, Submarina, or Jimmy John's (they are all sub shops, similar to Subway, but about a hundred times better)

I think it goes without saying, steer clear of McDonalds and BK, unless you are going for the "People of Walmart" crowd viewing.

Yeah, we have McD and BK over here, Ensis! I usually only visit them hungover, though...

We are also starting to see Taco Bell stores springing up, but I can't say they've impressed me much. I have a lot of time for KFC, though. I don't mind a Subway, either.

Ooh, tell you what I did have for the first time the other day - Cinnabon!!! Oh. My. Teeth. Really tasty, but I could feel the diabetus trying to suck out my life-force as I was eating it. Thankfully, I live a few hundred miles from the nearest one, otherwise I'd probably go there every day.
