That's usually a spelling mistake. The correct English spelling is 'doner'. I should know, I eat them all the frigging time!

I also love falafel, which may actually be popular elsewhere, but it isn't here.
One of my prospective colleges have a fallafel place right in the campus, this was actually among the selling points.

I know your pain. Actually, a local middle eastern market right down the street from me just added a grill and serves doners. But they're still trying to build up customers; the one time I went in for one the heat was off, and they had to shave off some cold meat and grill it. It just wasn't that good. Usually whenever we're in Europe and want a cheap fast tasty meal we'll grab doners, since you can get them pretty much anywhere (except in Greece of course, where you instead get a lovely gyro).

The deep fried goodness that is the Churro! Made properly. YUM.

That deep fried guacamole sounds awful...but deep fried ice cream is a feast of the gods. Delicious.

Hmm, I've got a long list here:
Guacamole with tons of garlic. Kebabs. Cantina thin corn chips. Hummus. Greek olives. My families brand of Mexican food which consists in corn tortillas fried flat, heaped with pinto beans cooked with bacon grease, topped by sour cream, cheese, onions, lettuce, tomatoes, guacamole, salsa, more sour cream, more guac, and finally a little more tomato. By the time the tortillas have been topped, they weigh about 1/2 a pound.

Did I mention that I live in a family of skinny people with high metabolisms?

Food I'd like to share with the dakkadakka community?
My personal invention, the cold schnitzel sandwich of the emperor.
Its simple, fry a nice pork schnitzel and let it cool down in the fridge. Get some delicious bread and smear some nutella on it. Smear some raspberry jelly over the nutella. Get some cheese and put it on the jelly. Now put the schnitzel on top of the cheese and last but not least put another slice of bread on the schnitzel. Enjoy the holy loveliness of the schnitzel sandwich of the emperor!

Not really exotic, as much as pretty rice. But..

Only the Japanese could take Rice and Seaweed and make something interesting, yet still be excactly what it says on the tin.

I could eat those things all day.

Bit of a tip. If you can't be bothered to wet your hands before rolling/forming them, totally disregard the starchy, weird texture on your fingers. It feels really weird that I mentioned a few words ago. Also, use short grained rice. Long Grained rice isn't traditional, and doesn't have the same qualities.

Had this the other day at a movie theater:

Two warm Belgium waffles infused with authentic maple flavor, topped off by a scoop of vanilla ice cream and drizzled in luscious caramel and a generous sprinkle of sweet and savory candied bacon.
