So, having heard some pretty stupid ideas, and some pretty good ones, I must unfortunately report that none of the ideas can go ahead. Apparently, the Pick your Poison doesn't appeal to many people and the Specialist Games day is not approved due to not being a maingame. The others rejected for various reasons.

So you're stuck with 40k, Fantasy, or Lord of the Rings?

Feth it! Do Dreadfleet...

Actually, that sounds good, because I an about to complete my own Dreadfleet set from exactly 1 year ago and I will rarely get a chance to play it. So that sounds like a great idea.

I didn't mean for it to be a real, serious suggestions >_<

I think that's stupid that you can't play specialist games but you could possibly play a decent failure of a game launch simply because it's less of a hassle to get your hands on the minis...

Actually it should be noted: It's easier to buy Blood bowl teams than it is Dreadfleet, considering I can't find Dreadfleet on their website...

Male or female?

Since I'm finally getting back to this thread (forgot about it), I'll clarify: Madison Scott (post boob-job), Faye Reagan/Valentine, Gianna Michaels, Jenna Haze. Enjoy the show.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

Do a killteam event. GW stores don't tend to have a lot of tables but I think people would have a lot of fun with it if you did a basic explanation so everyone knows how it works.

My local GW did a 500pt tournament when it opened up and it was pretty popular, even though they only have 2 tables. Anything that gets minis on the table and playing would be fun, but if it has some sort of narritive or tournament vibe that always makes things more interesting!

They played some Dreadfleet in my local store roughly 14-15 months ago. It didn't work then, it probably won't work now. But I really like the positivity. The ships are dead cool after all.

Play Lord of the Rings!

I second Kill Team. Anything more unique than a regular 40k event would be good.

I think a game of pseudo space hulk using 40k rules set in a few of the hobbit goblin town sets would be fun.

A single 5 man termie team ve infinite waves of random troop enemies, highest number of kills before being swamped wins!

Have some sort of big battle with multiple fronts e.g. have two sides fighting each other, with several smaller scale 1vs1 battles and one bigger battle in the center. The winner of each 1vs1 match may deploy his remaining forces in the next turn of the center game.

Tournament/specialized game (e.g Killteam) set up and only people with painted mostly WYSIWYG models are allowed in. That's what I'd do, each and every single time.

I'd personally pop into store for a narrative event with escalation between rounds ending in an Apocolypse match. But with the size of the main table it'd be pretty hard to make it work properly. Other than that a proper campaign day could be interesting...

A HQ and retinue king of the hill mash up would be fun too, say 500 points with a choice of a HQ and any one elite slot. Set up the board with a huge central objective and enough terrain to make a maze or street type layout complete with automated defences and staff controlled war bands throughout. It'd be free for all with alliances between players if they so wished, and last man standing in the objective wins. Runners up could be decided by how close they got to the objective. It'd be an interesting way to make a communal game whilst speeding the game up somewhat. Asking for painted models too would be a good showcase for most of the guys in store, there are some amazing models I've seen round the store. The smaller points per person could help alleviate some of the issues with the younger players on the Saturday events, no more necron swarms outweighing everything on the board or blobs of demons just thrown in a pile that somehow represents3 squads and 5 characters...

What do you think? Is it a Saturday event or a Thursday night you get to decide on?
