My sister graduated from school today so I've been busy celebrating her all day, but finally I got some time to sit down and working a bit on his robot arm.
Slow process but it's something at least Decided to go with only one top claw in the end.



His little gretchin servant had to gather all the pieces that will go on the arm next and was forced to pose with them.

Today has been a rough day four our little friend
I removed his arm, his so called "abs" and "lats" and gave him some real abs...well... at least 3/8 of abs, for now
Now to work a bit on his robot arm while the gs firms up



I'm glad is still haven't added a gob to his face yet, bet I would hear him complain about removing his arms all the time

Re-did his stomach and removed his shoulder for repositioning when I'm done doing his other side and getting all the details in its place

Muscles are lookin' real sweet. Are you using the AOBR warboss as inspiration? I believe he has side muscles like that no?

As for going for perfection, personally i'd just get it looking good and then get on with the rest, but I am an impatient modeller

I love the assembly and modeling part, I can't stand painting the damn things after though. I will paint this one ofc! All them boyz though dipping-method incoming!

Yeah, he does have somewhat similar side muscles.
I'm actually using this AMAZING piece for inspiration.

Looking crazy good there! Also reminds me a little of the Knight models Hulk (in a good way, mind!)

You know it's an Ork when the weapon is bigger than the torso Had time to sit down start on his right side
I also cleaned him up a bit, removing green stuff from his right side and some from his back.

Hehe probably not, changed the thread to "LOTR Cavetroll sculpted into BIG A** Ork Warboss (Pic Heavy)" since the only part that is actually from the cavetroll is the torso, and that torso is very well tucked in into lots and lots of green stuff

I knew it was going to take time doing this "mini" because I do everything slow (A.D.D-kid over here! ) I usually have no patience at all, maybe all the patience is released in this build?....Naaah, probably just the A.D.D kickin' in again
In all seriousness though, as I've said previously, I want things to be as close to perfect as I can possibly get it, so spending 1 hour on the rib cage or stomach to get everything looking the way I want it doesn't bother me

What you said is true, so no worries He is definitely not a broom anymore, maybe a bit on the inside


I managed to get some work done on the face, been busy celebrating midsummer
Don't mind the fingerprints on his lower jaw, they will be smothered in layers of greenstuff when it's finished firming up
I still have a bit of work to do on his upper lip, it's not overlapping his gum and teefz the way I want it.

Cracked open a new pack of greenstuff today I'm not used to sculpt with greenstuff this soft, fething tricky!
I somehow managed to use up all the yellow and still have a big nugget of blue left from the old pack... I am the master of unevenly mixed greenstuff



I gave him more abs and extended the torso so I can give him the famous "V-cut" that'll get dem "fine" ladies droppin their loincloths




Lower jaw in the making, I have prepared some teefs to add here and there in his ugly gob His head is very big so I will have to bulk up his body a bit more.

Oh now that is a nice and big gob! Dat Warboss he been breakin' heads a loooong time

He's going to look awesome, I like how grizzled his face looks, much better than the comic faces the GW sculpts have.

Finally he got his full set of abs Some more sculpting on his jaw.

Worked on his jaw and the left side of his torso today, I'm really happy how he's coming along.
I got an idea from another thread here on dakkadakka, why not put the boss on a bike? That would be a fun build!!
Anyway, I roughened up 3 of his 4 front teefz. I wrapped a thin layer of greenstuff around them and used the tip of my sculpting tool to draw small strokes from the rootz of da teefz to da pointy fingz.
I also added gum around the teefz and inside the gob
The reason he's so glossy is because of the cooking oil I use on the tools to prevent the greenstuff from sticking to them.

I've been feeling sick all day, so there hasn't been much done on the boss I managed to do some sculpting on his face. His upper lip was too short, so I extended it a bit.
His jaw will have a slight tilt to the right to make it look like he is giving a bellowing Waaaaaaaagh

yeh he's looking sweeeeeet I quite like the tooth ratio, admittedly he is a little gappy, but it gives more of a feel that he's so large his teef are worth a fortune, that even if just a lil' one pops out, he gets his armour gold plated

I might add 1 or 2 more teef to his jaw, but I'm quite happy with how he looks I will however add 1 toof on each side of his upper teef-row

How are you thinking of joining the arm to the torso? I love the detail btw, sculpting can be so rewarding, as I often find you can create some seriously good looking effects with flesh, like all the sinew on your muscles
