That's an interesting list Jy2 - we were discussing something similar in our gaming group. Stelek and Fritz 40k have been advocating the foot seer council for 6ed and we had tenatively thought about incorporating a dual deathstar as well ...

remove 1 embolden (-15)

The idea of course is to spread out and cover as much of the table as possible and get into cc quick as possible with run fleet.

The thing about the jetseer council is that they are just so darn fast. He's assaulting on T2 with both units of deathstars. It's not as balanced as it doesn't have much shooting, but those 2 units will really hurt most armies if they get the charge off.

Your list is probably slightly more balanced with more shooting, however, IMO it is easier to play against also because the target priority is clear. Focus everything on the beast squad first as it is clearly the greatest threat. The rest of the army (seer council) is just too slow until turns 3-4.

The best chance against these type of lists is to go 1st (at least for the more shooty armies). Get the alpha strike on them before they get a chance to cast their psychic buffs. Thank goodness for my 2 flyrants with tl-devourers and Precision Shots - I was able to mess up his beastpack real good.

With fleet and run the seer council hits turn two or three usually. Still it only gets a few turns to do damage as you say. Beastmaster pack is the main target unless Eldard decides to cast invisibility on the ser council and have them rush up beside the beast pack. Then it is pick you poison. We almost ran it with no FDs and a lot more destructors. But we found we needed the shooting. I like Sean's list more but as you can see there are so many ways to play this.

Yeah, whether it was my Space Wolf Rune Priest spam or my Grey Knights or my bugs, eldar (and tau) are the bane of my armies and have always given me a tough time. They can definitely compete.

BTW, the battle report is out:
