I absolutely love the 112 figure. I don't know why though. Possibly because he looks like a firefighter.

That's why he ends up killing most of his patients... the gun/axe/ammo scale to medical stuff is way off. I think he just axes his "victims" in the head and puts them out of their misery. Or if he's too lazy that day he always has his pistol.
I'm pretty sure he's the kind of fireman who would say "I'm gonna put out that fire... with more fire!" (yes I know that this actually works if done correctly lol)

That's a beautiful set of minis in that pic, I think Ariadna (and especially the French faction) have got one of the strongest miniature lines in the game.

The 112 in particular I believe is one of Bostria's most proud models. He's one of (if not the only) concept artists.
As to the OP, there is no need to sell you on Infinity because there is nothing to sell for new players Grab models you already have, download the quick start rules, and give it a go. You'll quickly get a feel for the dice mechanics and order mechanics. Then come back to us with your bucket of questions

Carlos Torres (who happens to be also a sculptor), BranDoCastro and Bostria form the art studio. Also, for some reason many sculptors seem to be skilled at design too. Take as example Yannick Hennebo, who designed (and later sculpted) the Invincible Shang Ji, which has served as inspiration for the look of latest YuJing armor pieces. Or the sculptor Jose Luis Roig has good drawing skills too, as shown by the Orc trooper and O-yoroi busts he signed my books with.

Fixed that for you.
Sectorial are not factions but sub-thematic forces of a faction. Let's speak properly.

Drawing is the foundation of most visual art, therefore it's not surprising that sculptors are also good 2d illustrators. Heck, even movie art directors who composes scenes for a movie are usually, at the very least, inclined to draw. A 3d concept is usually laid down on paper first before they start sculpting it.

That there is skill overlap is hardly surprising. Most forms of visual art require good dexterity, a knowledge of anatomy/proportion and raw creativity, so those basic skills will transfer well between different media.
Of course, it doesn't transfer the advanced skills of working with a different medium, so most sculptors probably couldn't produce a photo-realistic portrait from pencil - but on the comparatively "basic" level of line-art, it's no great surprise to find that many sculptors have the skills and imagination to conjure up miniature designs.
Particularly when looking at successful sculptors, you'll often find they're a pretty complete package of skills for designing and creating miniatures.

A little update for you guys:
So I've done some convincing around here and my buddy is pretty much sold on an Aleph army in the near future. And i quote, "Ladies, Robots, and an angry guy with a hammer! I'm in."
So it looks like I'll be playing ALEPH with it's TO camouflage, illusions, multi-weapons, and fairy tricks sooner rather than later. And the stats for some of his models look BEASTLY. 2 wounds, no wound incap, and +5 to ARM for an asura? Jeesh. That thing looks intimidating. The Dasyus looks pretty disruptive with TO camo and infiltration.
Anybody familiar with the way ALEPH plays? And what I may have to look out for?
Edit: Another quick question: Explosive ammunition says it forces the target to make 3 ARM rolls. Does it still only do one wound, no matter how many ARM rolls are failed? Or does each failed ARM roll put another wound on the target?

Yes explosive causes a wound with each failed armour save - as you can see its pretty deadly!
Aleph are tough, no doubt about it. One of my best friends plays them, is a good player, and constantly kicks my ass with them. That being said, they definitely have some disadvantages - most notably the lack of a cheap light infantry unit. His Myrmidons will be expensive because of their optical disruptors - use cheap infantry (which you have easy access to) with chain rifles to counter that. An SAS is also a pretty good unit to use, not expensive and again template weapons will counter the Aleph pixie tricks.
Yes the Asura is a beast - like the Greek characters, she is essentially a TAG in human-sized form. Nasty as hell, but she will still die if you apply the right weapons - look for the weapons that are also dangerous to a TAG. Most obvious is the Autocannon (which also happens to be a really cool model!) And if you are using the Merovingians, anything with an HMG, missile launcher or perhaps even the Loup-Garou with their viral rifles make a good unit to use.
Another good way to deal with TAGs (or anything similar) is to try and take out the units that are supplying their orders. Drop and camo troops, which Ariadna have lots of, are pretty useful for that.

Thanks! That really helps.
I got my mirage-5 in the mail today! I went ahead and started a blog. Although I've got some camera issues ATM, you guys shout check it out:

Also: Gotta say, the models look AMAZING up close. There's an INSANE amount of detail on these things. It will truly be a test of my painting skills. I'm looking forward to painting them. They arn't as pose-able, but the sheer cool factor more than makes up for it!

Great stuff, will keep an eye on the blog! I agree the models are great - I found them more than a little daunting at first, having come from finishing a large Space Marine project. But, I think the key is to not batch paint them, and treat each one like its own little project. Great fish eye lens by the way! I will write a comment on your blog thread
