Canterbury

Pretty much perfect. Hepburn and Grant play together wonderfully, clever dialogue and the farce elements are timed and played just right.

I hadn't actually made that connection before... wow.

I grew up with a lot of the old musicals. Sining in the Rain is still a favorite, as is Paint Your Wagon.

Speaking of Clint Eastwood... I picked up Pale Rider on DVD a while back and still have to find time to sit down and watch it. Haven't seen it since I was about 14.

I have Nosferatu on DVD, and watch it from time to time. It was a pretty powerful film, specially considering the time it was made and so on.

"The Great Train Robbery", with Sean Connery is pretty good, as well as" The Assasination Bureau", with Dianna Rigg and Oliver Reed.
They're pretty fun to watch back to back if you're in the mood to watch movies with Victorian England as the backdrop.

A few times, I've been out to the Saltaire Pavilion where the Carnival of Souls was filmed. It's a pretty cool building, that was abandoned due to being flooded by the Great Salt Lake and was pretty fun to get in around and explore.

Any of the Roger Corman Poe films with Vincent Price.

Except for The Raven. That was terrible.

Casablanca is good though

My vote personally goes to Rebel Without a Cause. That's a movie worth watching. The best and final role of actor James Dean.

Also gonna give a shout to Strangers on a Train. A wonderfully creepy and suspenseful movie.

The Wild One
African Queen
Original Frankenstein and Dracula. Its Alive!
The Searchers, Hondo, True Grit
Psycho
Anything with Grace Kelley in it

Grace Kelly was one of those women that had true natural beauty and class. A very rare thing.

High Noon
The man who shot Liberty Valence
Once upon a time in the West

great films, and the first two are true western classics

The ending is lame but the build up in High Noon is choice.
Also the Oxbow incident. Its almost a moviette but its really good.

My favorite classic movie, though other Hitchcock's do come close.

The Roger Corman series of Edgar Poe adaptions.

They are surprisingly enjoyable (and freaky!) films, with the exception of the Raven, which is...dumb.

She definitely styled herself on Hepburn, I actually like them both, despite despising the character of Janeway and the vast majority of ST:V, with the exception of 7o9 visually and the amazing hologram doctor.

The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly. Excellent story of two men with questionable morals chasing down a treasure, without getting killed or screwed over by the other guy, and then throw in a Lawful Evil character with resources to stir the pot. Plus, great music and laughably poor dubbing.

Sergeant York. Corny in places? Sure. But this had an excellent cast, great story, and good music.

True Grit John Wayne's best movie.

12 Angry Men. One of my favorites. All of the best character actors of the time, playing their best characters. The 1980s version with the guy from Who's the Boss sucked. Watch the original. We watched this one when we were studying Belbin profiles and had to classify traits of the different characters.

Dr. Strangelove. There's no fighting in the war room!

Yes thats epic. Even though a bit dated now (what no women on a jury pool? Now there's an appeal!) its still great.

I have this epic work.

I do not recommend "La jetee" as it is just a load of pictures and a narrator telling what is happening in the pictures.....It does make a good screensaver and there is a modern day version called "12 monkeys" (I think it has bruce willis in it) and the story is about these scientists making a mans mind time travel into the past...oh and also at the start of the film the main person sees a person get shot and at the end he gets shot (whilst back in time) see the link?
