Im liking the night fighting-heavy cron+ DE. You can run the normal shooty DE and then melee heavy crons. Let DE soften the targets before taking anything on. Searchlights arent a hard counter, since you essentially lose the shots of the unit lighting the target. Also, the list is still pretty much what DE and crons would bring anyways. Fixes the problems of crons being unable to tackle MCs easily, and the fragility of DE vehicles nicely.
yes, searchlights only help mitigate the fact that the enemy is getting a massive cover save bonus almost all the time. The lightning bolts help DE deal with mass low AV. The cron flyers help DE deal with flyers and low av and make them even more mobile for grabbing objectives. The DE shooting helps crons fight things over 24" away. The DE shooting helps crons deal with MC and 2+ saves. Having searchlights or going against DE means the combo isnt as valuable but it's not like you wasted points getting it. You still have a very potent fighting force.

Any unit as Battlebrothers?
Im going to say Vanilla Marines. 10 Lychguard + usual gubbinz'd Overlord + RB/SS/AA Capt in a Land Raider? Yes Please.
Scarab Swarms in Drop Pods? Yes please (watch targetting Priority shananigans ensue)
Wraiths + DLord in a Land Raider Flamer (which one is it please...)
the list goes on, then you add in Sternguard in Scythes...
Monoliths landing on Teleport Homers
the combos are endless

Even battle brothers can't ride in ally's transports and teleport homers only work for terminators (you maybe thinking locator beacon).

Aye I was thinking that. And I thought that BBs could ride in transports, as they were in all regards friendly units... EDIT: Yeah ok, that works as far as fluff is concerned... "you can zap me with magic, but you cant get in my tank"

I can't remember the last time I used an elite slot for anything other than doom. I sold my hive guard too. Even in 5th, MC give all the anti-tank a person could ever want.
