I dislike painting black the most. Very hard to make it look good, especially on the battlefield.

Prime with white, then apply a thin layer of white paint. Works wonders and have never failed me.

For me it has to be any sort of hair color. Witch is bad since I play Space Wolves

I dislike painting red. I've never found a really rich red shade that I like that didn't require 14 coats of paint to be effective.

For those that HATE Red, something that has worked well for me in the past is to mix your red with grey. You don't loose the color and the gray acts as a foundation to your red, stabilizing it

another vote for white. Oh god why did I choose white a my secondary colour for my army!? Close second is red. The coverage of these two colours is aweful, and often requires many thin layers to get a good even coverage.

Yellow would probably bug me more if I used it for anything other than little things such as lights on tanks.

Favorite colour to paint, boltgun metal (leadbelcher now I think). Man I wish all the paints covered like this. Easy to paint, and even easier to drybrush. Great coverage, and very forgiving.

I would be surprised if white wasn't the default answer.

Yellow is a somewhat distant second.

I like yellow and white. When I first started with IG I started with yellow guardsmen (hurr hurr they'll shoot these guys first cause yellow is dangerous, likes bees!).

Worst would probably be blue right now. It either covers too well or discolours the layers so much I have to change the idea I'm working from.

White and Black are my two worst.

Though I tend to hate Black more because I have to do it more often (Consecrators Chapter).

Yellow. It just never looks right. It's actually why I gave up on collecting blood angels fairly quickly. The helmets just looked trash.

Surprisingly white doesn't give me too many problems, mostly just time consuming. Yellow I find to be far worse, but at least I can do it after a lot of effort. Worst for me is red, mostly because I can't ever get the shade I wan't.

I really have to say orange. I have a single orange shoulder pad on my Imperial Guardsmen, and I hate it. It looks good to break up the white and green, but.. It takes several layers, and still doesn't look smooth... I also white, to be honest, but some good TV and a big brush will help you here Or even a white spray and paint over the rest in whatever other colour you want

I find yellow to be much more difficult than white when painting with a brush.

So my vote goes to yellow for most hated color to paint

What do you thin your paints with? As below, that Tyranid was the same, took about 10-15 coats to get that vibrant.

Spoiler:

Then I started using matt medium to thin my paint with a tiny amount of water, and suddenly I'm getting the same result, but with less coats.

Personally, I hate painting orange. It just turns into a yellowy orange muddy mess when I try to highlight, and orange paints tend to have even worse pigment levels than red, taking many, many, many more coats.

White makes me a sad panda. If its the primary color, I can spray it and be happy. If its in something else, disaster ensues and I just strip the paint and start again.

I'm a terrible painter - not just bad, but I also don't enjoy it.

So when I start a new brand army, and swear never to field an unfinished model, you'd expect it to be something easy to paint, right?

Nope - White Scars.

I'll throw my lot in with painting black. My Ulthwe guardians require a lot of patience to avoid chalky, wobbly highlights. I find thelast layers are the worst, since I either thin the paint and lose the fine edge I need or don't thin it and find thepaint dries somewhere between brush and model. R

I loathe painting black. I don't like highlighting it and it usually looks boring to begin with. There's some finagling I could do mixing colors to get a "not quite" black as a base that I then wash and shade, but it's a little more trouble than I'm willing to go through for rank and file dudes.

Most Whites are terrible to paint, but new Citadel Ceramite White at least is sometimes passable.

However, I really hate Dark Angels Green. For some reason, it just seems to suck into brushes and never cleans out, no matter what you do...

For white, I have had great success doing a light coat of white primer first, then using an airbursh for the white paint.

Otherise, burshing white sucks. For me, it's always streaky and too thick in some palces, while being too thin in others.

But an airbush fixes that beautifully.
