What is the most hated/annoying colour you have to paint?

Mine would be ushabti bone. Just thinking of it makes me angry. I use it on my deathwing.

White, it either looks to be dirty or not bright enough.

This. Very hard to make it look good. For the tabletop most other colors will work with one undercoat, some even without highlights and drybrushing. White requires a bit more work even when you're just looking to put three colors on a model.

Or at least it's the worst for me too. Admittedly I'm not a very good painter to begin with. These days you'll only get me painting if there's a game coming up and I really want that particular unit ready for it - I dislike grey plastic even more than my crappy paintjobs.

White, yellow, or red as a primary color. I dont mind painting it on certain models. But on space marines of any type or infantry types its just blech.

I agree. White.

The worst problem is covering. Your paints are ALWAYS either too thick or not covering well enough. Virtually nowhere in between.

White I can never get it to look right w/o a wash. Why did I even do white in the 1st place if I have to wash it?

Gun is my favorite color. I love to dry brush it on guns and such and I don't even know why I enjoy it so much.

White. It was created by the Chaos Undivided in an attempt to turn us to Khorne because of our massive rage, or, Tzeench because we go mad when we try to paint white, or, Nurgle because we just get sick of trying to paint white over and over and over again or Slaanesh, when we table flip and we have some sick serious pleasure destroying the bottle.

And this is when using the Layer one, White Scar.

You don't wanna know what happens when you use the Base, Ceramite White : even the Chaos God don't touch that thing with a 5-feet pole.

As an exparement once I actualy tride White-Out, it does work well on small flat surfaces, but thats about it. I ran into two problems only.
1] The Brush sucks and I don't want to kill a good brush.
2] The moment you open the bottle you have about 1hour to finish brfore it starts to thinken up.

I have gotten yellow to work, but only on figures not models.

I found a bright “Candy Yellow”.
One coat of white
Two of the “Candy yellow”
If in need to a Yellow Wash

It basically works.

White, followed by red. Yellow I don't mind at all though, I find it okay. White I can get to look good in small amounts, like helmet stripes, anything more and it's a long night ahead for me. Red becomes a problem for me when I'm tired, it's one of the easiest colours there is to put on too thickly.

Ushanti Bone (Bone yellow) and Ulthuan Grey (Which is really just base white, but for some reason is called grey).

It boggles the mind that those 2 come in the starter paint set, because they're the only reason that they're in my army scheme as purity seal coloring and DA emblem coloring respectively. I eventually just gave up and dumped water into my ushanti bone pot to give it proper coverage. Sure it takes a while to actually get it done, but at least it doesn't look textured like gravel when it's done now.

My vote goes to white, Im avoiding it as far as possible now. Im dropping and changing it on models who had it, because I cant stand having to do anymore models with white. Yellow is a good second, but Im not avoiding it as I do white yet.

Sorry for my spelling. I'm not a native speaker and a dyslexic.

White and yellow can be challenging, but also black is very difficult if you are trying for a top notch paint job with highlights.

Yellow or white. Really, those bright colors cause me issues.

Also, I have problems with black. I can't get black right without it looking like a primer XD

White - it looks pale, or if something was primed black you almost have to coat it on. (Why I switched to white and gray primer)
Then "Flesh Tone" which I don't know who where they get the idea these people are either pale as all get out, or spent time in an easy bake oven.

White.

Not just any white then there is the blue-white or the brown-white. One is used to give the impression of armor or cold and the other to show a hint of age or white cloth.

It will look pasty, powdery, or just plain ineffective at being opaque. Gah! got shivers just thinking of it.

I use Liquitex "titanium white" and it reduces the pain.

Black. Just slapping it on and doing gray edges SUCKS. Its unforgiving. Luckily I started basing in Rakarth Flesh and slapping 3-4 coats of Nuln Oil on. Natural highlights and produces a flat black look, exactly what Im looking for.

White Im used to so its not that bad.

For me white isn't so bad since I always want a "dirty" white and can drybrush on layers from an off-white base coat and then cover it with weathering. But what really sucks is black (and very dark shades in general). There's a fine line between "not black enough" and "too artificially black", and it's hard to show depth and shading without going back to gray.

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.
