Im just hoping to do it w/o confrontation.
They way they read it is that it can only be done from your opponents or your board.....despite the fact that one of them used it on me the week before.

The way you're describing them they seem kind of douchey.

That rule leaves no ambiguity at all. I'm baffled at the inability to read it as written.

It must be, because the positional relay rule is about as clear as you can get.

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!

You were in the right hotsauceman1. They are clearly wrong. The Codex very clearly states you can use the opponent's board edge if you want. You can come in on any board edge you are within 6" of.

How they could argue when you showed them the Codex is baffling. They are 100% wrong.

Hotsauce, there is already something in the book for this. If you and your opponent cannot come to an agreement even with the plain text in front of you on the interpretation of a rule then it should be rolled on to decide who has the right of it. As previously mentioned.

In this case you are correct though, the Positional Relay opens up whichever board edge that it is within 6" of and allows you to use that as an outflanking entry point.

On a side note: If you have people that are losing their tempers over a Positional Relay rules interpretation, you may want to find a new group or local friendly gaming store. Best of luck!

Its not something im proud of, but i lost my temper, not the other way around(In my defense the opponent i was playing, where the two tau players butted in, was actively trying to annoy me and cheat me out of a game)

Then I wouldn't make a big deal out of it, but neither would I 'play it their way'.

May I recommend calmly apologizing for your earlier outburst, specifically to whoever the temper was directed at.

If the Positional Relay ruling comes up again, stay calm and present your case. Hopefully, the earlier apology will help dis-entangle the 2 issues. Good luck
