I should emphasise theirs nothing wolfy about them, but neither is there much iiron-handsy other than a smattering of bionics and a cog as heraldy. I'm using the SW Codex as its more fitting to the non-codex fighting style and organisation I've envisioned.

I like Iron Butts myself.
"There's only one chapter that can deals with this threat. Send in...the IRON BUTTS!!!!"

-"Wait a minute.....who is that Frazz is talking to in the gallery? Hmmm something is going on here.....Oh.... it seems there is some dispute over video taping of some sort......Frazz is really upset now..........wait a minute......whats he go there.......is it? Can it be?....Frazz has just unleashed his hidden weiner dog from his mini bag, while quoting shakespeares "Let slip the dogs the war!!" GG
-"Don't mind Frazzled. He's just Dakka's crazy old dude locked in the attic. He's harmless. Mostly."

Medusian Wolves? Far from the actual name of the Iron Hands while still paying homage via the home planet. And pays homage to the fact you intend to use the SW codex.

Gods? There are no gods. Merely existences, obstacles to overcome.

Uh why? It's like telling someone they can't use the DA Deathwing rules to represent the Ultramarines 1st Company. Just because someone uses the Space Wolf codex doesn't mean their army has to be Space Vikings.

I'm running them with the SW Codex as it matches their doctrines and stuff, because the standard Codex appears too dull I guess... I might change my mind, the biggest putoff was Devastators being so naff in the vanilla codex as it stands compared to DA's and LF's.

Bear in mind that Devastators in the DA book used to be a step or two under the vanilla Codex's Devastators.

For myself, as a name for an Iron Hands Successor Chapter?
I would look at other types of metals or names for other metals.
Something like these, courtesy of Tables 1-27 and 1-29 in "Deathwatch: Rites of Battle":
Argent Consuls
Silver Hawks
Brazen Inferno
Golden Griffons
Steel Valedictors
Obsidian Sentinels
Mailed(as in chainmail/armor-clad) Dragons

If you can get your hands on the book or know a friend with the "Rites of Battle" book, you can usually knock a name out fairly well. There's a lot to work with in the book when it comes to designing your own Chapter though and I highly suggest it.

What about stepping away from Iron and using another metal? Bronze Hands, Copper Knights, Tungstun Heralds, Steel Sentinels?.....

Gold Fingers, Copper Bottoms, Lead Feet?

Seriously though......Iron pirates, Ferric Brothers, Lords of Wolfram?

Iron is a great base metal, but so are Copper and Zinc...so use the alloy they create and call your new Chapter that is known for its fearless attitude:

Brass Balls

Farseer Faenyin
7,100 pts Yme-Loc Eldar(Apoc Included) / 5,700 pts (Non-Apoc)
Record for 6th Edition- Eldar: 25-4-2
Record for 7th Edition -
Eldar: 0-0-0 (Yes, I feel it is that bad)

Battlefleet Gothic: 2,750 pts of Craftworld Eldar
X-wing(Focusing on Imperials): CR90, 6 TIE Fighters, 4 TIE Interceptors, TIE Bomber, TIE Advanced, 4 X-wings, 3 A-wings, 3 B-wings, Y-wing, Z-95
Battletech: Battlion and Command Lance of 3025 Mechs(painted as 21st Rim Worlds)

As an Iron Hands player - I would go down one of several routes with this.

Read all of this

http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Iron_Hands#.Uctt2Duz-c0

1. The Physical attributes of the Primarch, his nickname Gorgon, home world, medusa, Morlock, Tenth Legion, Primarch right hand Gabriel Santar.

"Sons of the Gorgon, Silver Tenth, Sons of Manus, Iron Sentinels, Praetors of Santar, Karaashi Guard, "

2. The Moirae Schism was a major split in the Chapter. Use this?

Mechanicum Lords, Guard of the Omnissah, Right Hand Chapter.

3. Iron this and that, is rubbish, I used Pyrite and ore Names for my Squads.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iron_ore

So I have Squad Haematite, Limonite etc.

Of all the Iron Hands Characters in the Heresy "Sabik Wayland" was the most pivotal.
.
Read around the Heresy because the events of this time gave rise to legends and therefore names of future units.

If you need help with banners let me know, I've got lots of Photoshop stuff I can share. This is a Pre-heresy one I did...

Collecting Forge World 30k????? If you prefix any Thread Subject line on 30k or Pre-heresy or Horus Heresy with [30K] we can convince LEGO and the Admin team to create a 30K mini board if we can show there is enough interest!

I suppose I could, but really it's my passion for the Iron Hands which allowed me to spend hours on making certain things for them.

What is it you were after?

What is it with people having the names of their chapters in other languages .-. I'd have gone for 'The Iron Hounds' :3 Kinda makes sense of you're using SW, and I think it's just a cool name
EDIT: I just realized it rhymes with Iron Hands, which is kinda cool xD!

Using DA for a First Company army is fine but unneeded. You can field 30 terminators in a regular codex list with cool looking troops to represent the other veterans. And in Apocalypse games it doesn't matter.

The Space wolves have things like WOLVES, they aren't Vikings in space anymore. They're team Jacob fans.

If you're just trying to have Devs with split fire and Terminators leading your squads, while taking free melta guns then you may as well just play a SW successor.

And I didn't tell anyone anything. I made a suggestion.
