Yeah, Vendettas and Monstrous Creatures likely crush the list cold. It certainly isn't a really good TAC list. But it is an interesting list that could take some people off guard, which is more than many other lists will do.

I mean BA AV 13 wall. Necrons have tons of advantages the BA don't. I'm sure they have ways around Vendetta air-cav.

Purely footslogging Necron lists get around by their troops not being able to die and Anni barges being way better at anti-air than something without Skyfire has a right to be.

Ah. There we go. I learn something new every day. Necrons also have cheap, reliable fliers that can shoot them down as well. I know this because they've done it to my poor Stormraven.

Lots of people are cheaping out on long range anti-tank in exchange for short and medium range power. So, yes, it will catch a certain amount of opponents with their pants down completely.

The necrons don't particularly seem to care about that, although when they do it Anni barges are deceptively good at anti air.

And also Ghost ark+Res orb warriors are more or less unkillable.

Uh...I don't see how that relates to the Blood Angels thing. o_O

Anni barges are twinlinked, have four S7 shots, and hit thrice on a six, which is what you want to roll anyway. Vakathi says that's basically getting as much shots on average with snap shooting as BS8 (in other words a Vindicaire) with a four shot gun.

Still AV13 is a definitely a hard rock to the many scissors armies out there today as most people go for S7 spam due to the aforementioned heldrakes, death croissants, and Vendettas.

Silly question. That maths isn't taking into account a reroll from BS8 is it? If so you won't get it - it's lowered to BS1... if you're snap-firing it would make more sense to have some flunky fire it and use the Vindicare to fire at something else.

I think he's saying a twinlinked tesla weapon when snap firing gets as many hits on average as a BS8 gun would when normal firing.

No longer can we move 18" and pop smoke. I have 6 armies and none of them have been destroyed by such a large collection of nerfs as have my BA. Very depressing.

Make the intelligent decision and pick your own, unique, color scheme if you are going to repaint. Don't tie yourself to one codex when you have 5+ available.

I think he's implying that he's going over to that other Angel marine army.

Wait for vanilla marines and see what they look like. The DA are obviously better than the BA, but I can't help to think that there won't be even better schemes in the new C:SM codex.

Looking at Dark Angels right now, I have a very hard time imagining that they're going to be anywhere better than mid-tier as 6th edition rolls along. I imagine Codex: Space Marines will be far better, with the same options barring some bells and whistles (although they will likely have far more bells and whistles of their own to compensate).

Yeah, 6th edition just might be an edition where meqs are not so hot. I really don't mind this, but I DO mind the BA having a myriad of nerfs the other chapters don't.

My BA army is an AV13 wall. The as-yet unmentioned thing that has made it unplayable for me is the fact that vehicles aren't Denial units anymore. I used to rely on being able to move an AV13 chassis 18", Tank Shocking if necessary, for late game contesting. They would get hit on a 6 in CC, and if they got blown up, I always had another one to go again next turn. None of that works any more, and my version of the army at least always had trouble killing massed infantry anyway.

Take comfort in knowing that you're not playing Black Templars.

For thirteen years I had a dog with fur the darkest black. For thirteen years he was my friend, oh how I want him back.

That's like telling someone with the dysentery "at least you don't have cholera."

If the person with dysentery is complaining about how it's unfair that no one else suffers as much as he does when there's someone with cholera in the room I'd say he'd have it coming too.

Some people always moan about how their army is nerfed or ineffective and that it is the codexes fault rather than their own.

I play a blood angels player who is a great strategist and often rips my army to shreds (bearing in mind that I often clean up in other battles).

I think if you are using blood angels a great way to go is storm ravens as they are cheaper than landraiders and allow some really nasty units such as death company/death company dreds to get real close while blasting missiles etc... From the air.

Some of your characters have become a lot less virulent such as Mephiston - he has taken a blow.

I do agree that the downgrade to feel no pain is, well a pain. But only instant death weapons can ignore it now whereas AP2 weapons such as starcannons used to just bipass it completely so it is really a matter of perspective and what army is put in front of you.

If your BA example player is loading units in Stormravens, he's not a good example.

If he runs into an equally good strategist with Necrons, who do you think will have the advantage?
