Check the reputable traders thread. Look at join dates, do a search for transaction reports with fishy individuals.

I'm pretty new to the forums and I also had a hard time determining if someone is a scammer and would appreciate tips on the matter. When I was considering the trade with ThouShallNotHeal, I looked at his posting history but found nothing overly suspicious aside from being a relatively new user (but still less so than myself).
I'd also like to think that not all of us Aussies have been tainted because one very tenacious scammer has been operating out of our vast country. That said, I wouldn't be trusting anyone who's shipping address is in Telford Close NSW now, just to be on the safe side.

On the matter of ThouShallNotHeal, It has now been a week since I last sent him a message (both via Dakka PM and email) and I have not heard a single thing from him in response. My paypal dispute is also awaiting a response.

I almost fell into a trap with this guy, he offered me a tau manta for £200 he sed he just wanted rid of it, it was taking up to much space. He send me some pictures of it, then I googled tau manta and the pictures came up on another forum from back in 2008 and it was some French bloke! I emailed the administrators but a t no where

Seeing all this scamming does make me a little uneasy every considering trading here. However, the mods are really on top of this stuff, the fact that you guys are looking at shipping addresses on posts to keep track is awesome. Good job mods

Just another update: Paypal have refunded my money after the grace period expired with no response from seller. They are now investigating this as a case of fraud.
