As the title says here it is, done some freehand. It is pretty late here so i photographed it under poor artificial light so you cant see highlights on skull. Probably will take one more shots of PIP and then you will see details hopefully..

Ok here are the pics of finished count as Heldrake and some unfinished bikers (I just cant make myself to finish them, and they need just some shading and highlights, repainting bone details and reattaching of trophy racks).
























Pic of me with young apprentice. This is my son Abel, two years and four months old and full of interest for a hobby. I red a lot of things about kids destroying precious miniatures and stuff but we really dont have any kind of problems with him. He picks my figures looks at them and then returns them at their place. He is quite interested in everything we do so when I sit down to paint, convert or model something he is like my shadow . He can sit by me patiently for hours asking questions: What is this, what color is this, Mom look at the bikers and so on. Please bear in mind that these are morning photos so we are still in pijamas (I dont wear that usually).

Very creative work on the helldrake. Great to see your apprentice working away there. If he stays interested you'll have something to do together for many years to come!

@Gitsplitta - Thanks for comment on a Heldrake, glad you like it. And about my "apprentice" I believe that he will have some interest because our apartment is full of creative stuff, drawings, miniatures, sculptures (everything made by me and my wife), our main responsibility is to take care and nourish his creativity and imagination and everything will be fine.
Children are as a clear book and responsibility as a parent is to fill that canvas with nice, happy and positive pages (I kinda sound like Hippy but I believe that is the only way to raise your child). If you manage to teach your child to think and to make his own decision (good and bad also) based on experience and proper reasoning he is prepared for this not so good world.

@Gitsplitta - Thank you very much, you are very kind. To get ahead of parenting talk, I have some more stuff coming in next few days, finishing count as Nurgle marines and their mk1 rhino (paper build), some dark mechanicum obliterators and Khorne marked marines with rhino. Luckily for me "codex" Inquisition didnt turn out to be what I was hoping for so I have all the time in a world to work on my Night Lords. Nevertheless I am quite disappointed with that rumor of game based on Inquisition turned out to be false.

Count as helldrake looks good. I like the OSL and the freehand scripture on the underbelly. Bikers look good too. I like the color used on the champions power fist

@Moltar - Well the bikers arent finished yet as I said in the post so they will hopefully look much better when I finish them. As for the champion fist I did it intentionally red to contrast it with that dark blue of the armor.

Again update after some time, right here are "Tainteds condemned".

Baruk the Tainted is leader of "non-numbered" claw. Instead of usual ways members of Condemned are incorporated under the leadership of Baruk after they receive "red gloves".

Baruk is one of the rare marines in Al Ahns warband that openly worships one of the great pantheon - Blood god, Eternal hunter, Lord of bloodshed or how mortals call it Khorne.

Even in beginning of great crusade Baruk was noted for his lust for blood and was often criticized by members of other Legions for his refusal of speaking High or Low Gothic, it is said that he often argued that he can perfectly understand "Terran", as he called it, but why he should speak it when other Legions refuse to speak Nostraman,

After Horus debacle under the palace he left with his brothers of the 29th company and then his road to the full worship begun to take momentum with increasing speed.

Today he commands those "which are already dead" and is usually sent into thickest fray after he loses himself into blood trances. Members of his claw dont have much choice but to follow him or be shot down by their "brothers" .

Hello everyone didnt post anything here in a while, I was busy with real life and also with "completion vow" on one other site. So here is small update on my army and things I did in last two-three months.

Raptor cult of the dying world.

I present you with this "gift", I am honoring you with my sons and my blood so they can be your reminder on our alliance.

But remember Al Ahn if some "misfortune" happens to them you and your witch brother are going to pray for death.

Krieg Acerbus to Al Ahn at the war gathering of the VIII Legion during 13th Black Crusade.





Unfortunately color of his face still looks bland although it has same red and blue shading, but I really cant get my camera to record that properly (you will have to believe me that it looks much better in real life).



This Raptor cult is part of the Al Ahns warband "given" to him by Acerbus to serve as a mark of alliance and also watchdogs. I believe no one is willing to risk wrath of mightiest Night Lords warband in modern times.

7th Claw - Destroyers of Rov Ot







Heavily armored, equipped with poison blades and chem stims this unit is built and maintained for just one purpose - Strike hard.

If you write Rov Ot correctly OtRov it means poison in Croatian so it is a little nod to the Plague marine nature and of course. Rov Ot doesnt sound so bad for unit champion [] .

All my life I fought with fear as my weapon and darkness as my shield. I never felt fear myself for whom should I be afraid of, our father is dead and we are demigods.

Thats what I used to say old brother and you entombed me into this walking grave and now I now what does it mean to be terrified when you try to put me to my "deserved" sleep.

Ehrfurcht Razgul of the 29th company to warleader Al Ahn











Razgul was mortally wounded during Istvaan battle fighting Raven Guard. Legionares of the 29th company found him among pile of dead Ravens still holding his sword. Later sword was named Feather and was attached to his sarcophagus. His impenetrable armor is adorned with banner which lists known names of Raven Guard marines Razgul killed that day on the back side and on the front is pic of Night Lord holding a ravens severed head although I am not sure it can be seen on pics. White of his helmet is totally off, in real life it is much more brownish but you will have to trust me (or come to visit at my home ).

And last all of units I completed during this vow pictured together in a "cinematic" way on the kitchen table (our gaming table is at friends house so...).

You've got a good grasp on lightening design.

@Gitsplitta- Well they could been thinner but one of my neighbors (13 year old girl) came to visit my wife and was playing with my brushes so right now they are mostly split and they dont have sharp tips anymore so I had difficult time painting eyes, lightning bolts and details.

Happens. Chaos is everywhere...

Young recruit, he isnt with us since beginning of the Long War but in a few years I think he will be worthy brother .





I started doing this helmet few days ago and I plan one day building whole suit for my son, so the helmet is intentionally bigger because I know I am not going to finish it before Abel grows bigger. Lets talk about planning ahead .

Helmet also has eye visors but they cant be seen on this pic.

Wow, its been a while since I visited this part of the forum but the time in warp flows differently. I had some personal issues (the owner of the house where we lived was stealing from us for the better part of last three years so me and my family had to move out from there, I was trying to get a new job-even asked help from dakka community but didnt managed to find any etc.).
I didnt have plenty of spare time so VIII th legion was on hold but I have returned and running trough my bits I found enough parts to build a small army of Inquisition with alpha legion marines(currently in paint stage) so I plan to post new pics when my camera baterries recharge.
Also I have found 9 pairs of thunder hammer arms and shield arms and as I dont need them decided to sell them so wanted to ask Dakka comunity what would be a fair price for them (metal ones) I would be glad to sell them to someone here rather then put them on Ebay.
I also have some vampire counts bundle (old metal characters including Nagash - the pretty metal one ) so if someone is interested feel free to contact me so we can figure something out.

So few hours became few days but nevertheless here are some new pics (only two of them and they are in raw PiP and WiP state but I wanted to show them).
First are mine terminator champion and raptor lord. I always wanted to own that old beetle terminator but couldnt get one so re purposed one of the old metal ones (I have around twenty of them, one cant have enough of them, right?) and second one is raptor lord for my army (these two are one of my first working experiences with green stuff and I am still learning but I think I found something that will keep me entertained for a long time.
Pics are a bit dark (but we are Night Lords so that doesnt bother us, weather was extremely cloudy today so I couldnt get decent enough photo hopefully tomorrow I will have something better to show).



And this is a small "teaser" on what is currently becoming a small Inquisition army. I was sorting mine old stuff and stuff I dont need anymore and built around 2000 pts completely uncompetitive army (Karamazov count as, Alpha legion tactical marines as allies etc). The progress on this army will become a separate thread in some undefined future .



P.S. Speaking of unneeded stuff please check my ebay auction it ends soon and maybe you like something from it. Right now prices are real bargain (hopefully I dont violate any forum rules with small advertising but if I do feel free to remove these last links and sentences).

Hey TP didnt saw that you posted here, well plan was to update this P&M topic but didnt have time to photograph new stuff. Manged to get out my foot soldiers and put them in cabinet and sorted stuff which needs repaint/touch ups so that is planned in future (estimated time between few days to couple of months).
I am flattered that someone likes my paint style since I dont consider myself great painter (and even worse photographer so lot of details is lost-but it is not purely my mistake it seems that lot of dust came into my camera lens so taking macro photos is pain in the ass, and battery didnt aged so well so I have max 20 photos until it dies off).
But since I got response after so long I make promise that I ll update this blog in next few days because of you TP

No problem, since I dont consider this blog dead so technically speaking it is not necro posting I just didnt have time to update it. You know real life etc and I really cant imagine in what parallel universes some people from Dakka live to have so much time. Take Gitsplitta or GrimDork to name few, so much top quality stuff in their blogs that I cant even comprehand how do they do it (cloning, time machine or something else but those guys are pure inspiration ).
These days I mostly visit other peoples blogs, Inq28 are primary my interest, and have another mini blog here on Dakka for keeping record of me getting rid of excess stuff (painting of old minis and selling them for whatever someone offers on Ebay).
Well it isnt just because of you but I would love to update it more often since I really like my Night Lords army.

Ahhh.... but if you look closely at my blogs, you'll see gaps of months in-between substantive updates. Then you'll see a flurry of activity for a while. Just the way it goes. It's a hobby after all.

And there you are sent one of clones didnt you . I know the feeling my problem right now is that I have Muse on my shoulder but dont have enough time. And now all these rumors of AD mech coming, creative juices are in the waterfall mode But since I play only chaos since starting hobby I expect they wont be alliable

It's a continuous struggle for me. I have far more figures than I will ever paint. Last year I started selling them off or giving them away as comp prizes. I've also picked out certain units that are kind of necessary for competitive play, but that I'm not really emotionally attached to & am having them professionally painted. Both of those things take a lot of the pressure off. Also lucky that I've got a friend or two willing to paint for me occasionally just because they're awesome guys.

Still, I do a lot of painting myself still. Just have to prioritize I guess.

Well recently I sold whole lot of miniatures that I was hoarding in different boxes for years. I dont know how would I describe that, maybe emotionally attached to them. But I am not having THAT kind of addiction I was hesitant to sell them because I knew I couldnt get price that would equal my vision of value.
I was wrong I sold them and not a single mini was missed I left few of more interesting minis(interesting to me, either different color schemes or painting approaches etc) for painting relaxation when I need to clear my head a bit after long work days. Plus point is when I am done with them they are off to Ebay (as I said earlier) and I am starting my auctions 0,99$ + actual cost and it gives me great satisfaction when I manage to sell some. It seems people value my skills more then I do (for example that Rogal Dorn went for a great price which was then invested in Adventure time toys for my 3yrs old son )
I wish I could afford myself either a smart phone even cheap one to get better photos or better camera for same reason.
Those competitions you managed were great and in the near future I plan entering one, chance to get some of those older miniatures is to good to resist but much more important is out of box thinking and realization of models (one of the best ideas I seen in a long time is that Mantis warrior emerging from smoke with red laser dot trailing from gun, unfortunately I dont remember the name of the author).

Just to show that I am still alive and never stopped working on my Night Lords.
Reently I got this miniature as a gift from a friend. I have no idea from where does it come, Mini itself is metal (softer type which I found out by breaking spear from the left hand by accident) with lot flash on it but nevertheless it is interesting so new sorcerer was born
So far I managed to start painting only his face.



Last month I managed to play 40k :O and tried some FW units like Fire raptor (which failed miserably to Eldar firepowerin first turn) and Marauder squads which were fantastic and I fell immediately in love with them. I run two squads with grenade launchers and snipers and one squad with bolter, two shotguns and plasmas. So I get my self up and decided to convert myself mercenaries for Night Lords.

Well it never died in 20+ years but sometimes I have time outs, for example 6th ed 40k was good enough but 7th I took a break. I usually play with friendly group so I consider that as my relaxing time with couple of beers and small talk (to lessen the brain stress accumulated during the week ). But after the game of 7th ed 40k I was exhausted and just wanted to go to sleep . All unnecessary small rules that slowed game down (still not sure about frenzy, crusader, furious charge what each of one does and thats from top of my head).
8th edition is great so far, so much possibilities, so much different armies I see around. I think they did pretty good job with this edition.
