THIS. Why couldn't I think of it earlier?!
Thanks for the awesome replies!
Bikes and the Spawn shall be tried at the earliest opportunity. I was already planning a build with 2 drakes and a unit of bikers, now I'm excited to see how it will do.
I tried target saturation before with heldrakes and rhino-mounted troops but they just could not quite get the job done (either the rhinos are blown away, usually giving
FB, or the opponent ignores the drakes for an easier
DP kill).
Along the way I've found three setups which I think are viable for a
DP:
1) "The Watcher": Mastery 3 Tzeentchian Daemon with Power Armour, Wings, Spell Familiar. Circle above, vector strike and blast away. Replace all the mastery levels with a BBoS, and you get a cheaper one. Usually I make these ones my Warlords.
2) "The Alchemist": Mastery 3 Slaaneshi Daemon with Power Armour, Wings, Black Mace. Roll one for Slaanesh and two for Biomancy. Vector strike and blast away, if you've got any, and then buff up to charge in. A variant is to run without the black mace, for cheaper.
3) "The Psycho": Khornate Daemon with Power Armour, Wings and the Axe of Blind Fury. Self-explanatory.
However, I've seen some nice suggestions here which I will most certainly try out.
