THIS. Why couldn't I think of it earlier?!

Thanks for the awesome replies!
Bikes and the Spawn shall be tried at the earliest opportunity. I was already planning a build with 2 drakes and a unit of bikers, now I'm excited to see how it will do.
I tried target saturation before with heldrakes and rhino-mounted troops but they just could not quite get the job done (either the rhinos are blown away, usually giving FB, or the opponent ignores the drakes for an easier DP kill).

Along the way I've found three setups which I think are viable for a DP:

1) "The Watcher": Mastery 3 Tzeentchian Daemon with Power Armour, Wings, Spell Familiar. Circle above, vector strike and blast away. Replace all the mastery levels with a BBoS, and you get a cheaper one. Usually I make these ones my Warlords.
2) "The Alchemist": Mastery 3 Slaaneshi Daemon with Power Armour, Wings, Black Mace. Roll one for Slaanesh and two for Biomancy. Vector strike and blast away, if you've got any, and then buff up to charge in. A variant is to run without the black mace, for cheaper.
3) "The Psycho": Khornate Daemon with Power Armour, Wings and the Axe of Blind Fury. Self-explanatory.

However, I've seen some nice suggestions here which I will most certainly try out.

Correct for the CSM codex, the BL supplement doesn't have the same restrictions so you can take as many as you like.

None of them have two Chaos Artefacts.
If you're referring to the Tzeentchian Daemon with the BBoS and the Spell Familiar, the Spell Familiar is a "Chaos Reward" and he can take items from Rewards and/or Artefacts (c:csm p94).

Okay thanks - it looked like one DP with a lot of Artefacts...

Far from competitive, DP isn't competitive in itself really... Mainly use him for fun and to mess around. He's a guy that you'll really never be able to kill if he gets boon of mutation, life leech, and anything else from biomancy (iron arm). And he has the nova that does up to 18", nightmare for tau.
