Dark Crusade was what got me into the tabletop so it would have to be that.

Dawn of War II with Chaos Rising expansion.

I really like the squad based strategy of the game, it was the only strategy game I played over a hundred hours against other players. Squad based = NO ZERG RUSH!

Dawn of War: Dark Crusade. I have no idea why, but I like it better than Soulstorm.

Even though not as good as Jagged Alliance 2, what games really are?

I agree Chaos Gate seemed to embrace the best of 40K, while still introducing some RPG like elements. You could upgrade your marines through their experience. If they died you had to replace them with raw recruits (which sucks when that happens late in the game!). Good turn based combat.

I wish GW had a turn based game like that out now. One that allowed you to do online vs. players and offline vs. AI. I do love DoW 2, but I think turn based games are the only way to capture 40K effectively.

I'll go with Space Marine for the Xbox, I also got Space Hulk for my Laptop and quite enjoyed that as well.

Got close to 2K hours on the DoW2 games, still love 'em. I'd say Retribution is best one, since I mostly loved the multiplayer and Retribution has the best multiplayer. Except for a few stupidities like Catachans, Gaunts getting stuck in terrain, Zoanthrope spam, etc.

I enjoyed dawn of war: winter assault. I used to have a really cheesy strategy online where I would rush hell hounds. I could bunker up in my listening posts to repel rushes and then after a few mins 2 hell hounds are driving around roasting entire early game armies with no anti-tank yet on the field. Good times!

On moon miranda.

The original Dawn of War series was truly excellent, however I could just never get into DoW2.

Fire Warrior was...awful. Never got to play Space Marine but wasn't too impressed by what I saw otherwise (looked like lots of "For theeee EMPRAH" yadda yadda)

IRON WITHIN, IRON WITHOUT.

New Heavy Gear Log! Also...Grey Knights!
The correct pronunciation is Imperial Guard and Stormtroopers, "Astra Militarum" and "Tempestus Scions" are something you'll find at Hogwarts.
