Thanks for the answers! I'll be sure to give these a go (maybe not the booze though...)

Tone down your list, try something new and interesting as an experiment. I wouldn't run my Guard Flying Circus and their Deep-Striking Grey Knight buddies casually, I might experiment to see what a Coteaz list that happens to have a Vulture tagging along looks like instead.

To me casual play is the time to try out things that you might not have done before. Certain tactics, units, etc.
It's also a time to discuss rule items with your opponent more in a way to get their thoughts on how things ought to be played.
You might even use the game to talk through certain strategies to see what they think.
Basically, I think it's a good time to discuss things in a setting where win/loss takes a huge back seat to simply exploring more options.

In terms of actually playing, do what you'd normally do I guess. Maybe tone down the list a little if it's completely WAAC, but aside from that it doesn't differ much.
this . if there are no judges then the game is either casual or a test game .

Play with your friends and have fun.
You can have a casual game with all the hell drakes as Lon as you're both having a time doing it.

No, booze and 40K go together extremely well. Models can always be glued.

Some of us (like me) aren't into this 'getting drunk' thing, though.

Actually it's more of a too young to drink thing.
