Trust Dakka to give me the crossover thread I want!
In the new BSG Vipers pretty much operate how starfighters should in space; they rotate on a 3 dimensional axis while retaining velocity, something fighters in the Star Wars universe some how lack the capacity to do.
In game, this could be represented by the ability to turn to face any axis while moving using the A-Wing template, but this would probably break the game.

I got an email back, he used the keychain vipers off of amazon.com, they are roughly $10.00 each, so not too bad, but not sure if scale is accurate or not.

You are right, firing arcs are such an important mechanic in this game. It would be difficult to balance this ability. Either you go in the direction of Star Trek, and up the resilience of the ships or you really have to pair down the weapons damage on the Viper.
One way would for the Viper to have a super narrow firing ark.
A second way would be to limit the rotation to 90 and 180 degrees.
Finally, as mentioned above... you could reduce the Viper to firing 1 dice.

Like this?
https://www.shapeways.com/model/49231/vipermk2-whitedetail.html?li=search-results&materialId=6 It's pretty expensive on Shapeways, but it might not be too bad if you had your own printer.

Did you just drill holes into the bottom for the flight stands to fit in?

The miniatures viper keychains are may be a quarter inch to big but in game you dont notice. I used tie interceptor movment wheel and mt record is 2 wins and 4 loses at 50 points games.Actually I did drill holes In Them then i i glued the posts in them. I highly recomend the L ITKO FLIGHT STANDS. They are much easier to use. Just glue they connector piece to botttom for easier storage.
