And... while I'm sure there's more to these sorts of situations than we know, perhaps the stress that he is surely still under from the trial, and the fact that in the Court of Public Opinion, he's basically already been crucified, which I'm sure doesn't help if he wants to head down to Publix for groceries or something.

The police report explicitly notes that Scheibe was standing outside the residence when contact was made.

Supported his side on the Treyvon case. Purely on the evidence provided and displayed during the case.

That said, the dude is an idiot that is going to wind up in jail. It might very well be he's snapped under the pressure of what he's been through but it's not an excuse to be an idiot for me. If he's broken the law (and it looks like he has) put his butt in jail and we can all move on.

The real problem will be the media as per normal.

In reality, it's probably a combination of both of those, but as it was pointed out earlier.... the Media isn't going to help any whatsoever in this situation.

What exactly is "the media" doing? You may as well indict the concept of communication if you're going to use such a broad brush.
