(Whatever you've done also seems have removed the option to switch on compatibly mode from the IE address bar for Dakka, not that I need it, but I'm mentioning it for completeness)

"First unread" now only takes you to the top of the page, not the first new post. I'm guessing this is related to the black lines between posts (and some actually under the subject line of each post).

I see 9 colored stripes at the top of the page, rather than the 3 or 1 that Orlando posted, as well. Just FYI

If feedback is being solicited, this is annoying when browsing with desktop. It's only an extra click each time, but worth mentioning.

(damn mobile users ; p)

On the desktop you can just hit the space bar to say 'ok'. It has glitched a few people on both mobile and desktop over the years so is a worthwhile addition.

No, if you see no player location before adding yours then there is a bug. What web browser are you using?

In IE 10 and 11 a majority of the markers are not displayed correctly which is something I am working on.

I am using Safari on on iOS 7 for iPad mini.

Does it say 'Loading...' next to the map?

Are you on a mobile or otherwise inconsistent connection?

I am seeing the same issues on the iPad. When logged out results and filter options show up, but when I log in, I see an empty map with the right column form missing.

I have not filled in my details for the map yet either btw

I assumed it was part of the programme so added my details which got rid of the problem. I'm on a stable WiFi connection at home.

The page was fully loaded at the time though, and I tried refreshing a couple of times to see if there was an error with the loading. But this didn't have any effect.


Edit: just tried it whilst logged out, and the page loads up with all the player locations and no problems.

Great idea! Will keep an eye out for some local peeps!

I'm on Chrome and seeing no options or other players unfortunately Lego.

Probably the bug that was just mentioned - set your location and it will show you everything (or view it logged out). I'll get the glitch sorted out over the next few days.

Hm... I am experiencing some trouble after this release, but don't know if it's related.

I mostly surf dakka from my phone (but I do it a LOT! ) which is a Lumina 920.

Ever since I started using the Lumina the "mobile friendly" theme has been bugging out and not showing anything, so I use the standard dark/orange skin.

Normally, when ever I would enter a thread it would make the text fit the screen automatically, increasing the font to a nice size and cutting of sentences so they would fit in one screen instead of having to scroll to the side all the time.

But ever since last night it has been acting weird. When ever I enter a thread it crops the text to the nice font and everything, but then when it finishes loading the entire page it all jumps back to "normal" view with tiiiiny font and without cutting of lines so I have to scroll to the side to read everything.

I don't know if it's related to this update, but figured it perhaps had to do with it?

ANY suggestions to fixing this would be much appreciated since I spend like 3 hours a day on dakka at least (bus rides to and from work ). I think I can take some screenshots of what my phone is showing me if that would help.

The "Players within X miles" feature of you does not seem to be working.

When the map shows that there is a player in Titusville, FL; which is 76.2 miles from me.

Cyp, there is a minor glitch that might be hitting you there. Additionally, there is heavy caching on that, so it might take a day or two to update properly for you there if you've been looking at it a lot.

Gorlack, could you please start a new thread about that in the nuts and bolts forum and provide screenshots. There are loads of bugs with windows mobile that have been around in various forms and I'm slowly working through them, but dont have direct access to a windows mobile device myself so testing is slow and painful.

Dakka occasionally gets spammers, some of them offer Minecraft for free, free League of Legends Riot points, or great deals on kitchen cabinets. Because of the number of these kitchen cabinet threads that would be hunted down and terminated, Lego just implemented a little thing that says, "Sorry, due to high levels of spam, the word kitchen is not allowed in our post/thread titles." whenever someone tries to put Kitchen in a thread or post title.

Looks like a fun feature, thanks for adding this! I've put myself in.

Would this not be worth a sticky or something in the find a game sub-forum? Only stumbled on the feature by accident and I'd love for a few more players to pop up nearby instead of just 1 within 20 miles!

We'll start to push it harder in a couple of weeks once all teething problems are out of the way. There are still a few small glitches I've got to take care of, but we definitely want to get some big numbers of people on here so that we can facilitate gaming around the world.

I'm on W8 with Chrome Version 31.0.1650.57 and I'm not getting anything when I'm logged in. Viewing the map in Incognito mode allows it to work properly.
