Looking forward to learning more about the game. Mordheim in the hands of a decent developer has the potential to be awesome. But it can be very easy to squander that potential.

I'm not one for computer games, but what does get me excited is the possibility of a limited edition release of the game if the digital version sells. They'd be mad not to.

I think the problem with doing a limited edition Mord, or even blood bowl for that matter, is the fact that there are more then 2 playable factions. Space hulk worked cause it was just marines and bugs. Do a mord release and people will be asking for the other war bands

If this is a grid-based turn-by-turn game I might have to pass. The entire point about Mordheim was that you could get into all sorts of hilarious situations and positions because of the free style of movement and openness of the rules. Turning it into XCOM will drain the last remaining bits of fun left in the system.

I would love to see this and Necromunda done on the same engine from the latest X-COM game. It would allow for different classes and a level up/ skill tree.

I love turn based strategy so much, I completed the very first Xcom and steam last month, I think it was released in about 1994.
I even enjoyed Space Hulk, and that was very mediocre.
Warhammer Quest on iPad was addictive too, so I think Ill be all over this.

I'm just hoping this is an actual VIDEO GAME not a board game on a disk like Blood Bowl. While I can appreciate Blood Bowl for what it is, I feel it would have been better served to look more like Mutant League Football in the Warhammer universe versus the current product.
I'd rather lose multiplayer campaigns in this if that meant we got a more extensive XCOM like single player experience. Maintaining a roster, competing for territory, leveling troops and heroes could all be done in the Mordhiem setting WHILE progressing a story. There is also so much that could be improved upon like making armor more useful and not have duel wielding be the be all end all that a divergence from the original system would be not only welcome but appreciated.
Shifting over to a Xcom type game experience will also fly with console gamers. Blood Bowl failed on the Xbox because it just wasn't a console type game. That's also where the bigger audience is.
This game could really be huge, but as I'm typing this, I realize I shouldn't get my hopes up.

Aaaaah please don't take it the wrong way but none of that is what I want out of this game I'd far rather have a faithful recreation of the tabletop game (some balancing permitted) with pretty graphics and online multiplayer than some new thing designed to sell well on consoles!

Blood bowl on X-box was actually a failure for a different reason, because it removed multiplayer leagues, gutting the best part of it.

I liked Blood Bowl too, I just feel a much better and more successful video game could have been designed with far more interesting play. Why insert board game limitations in a Video Game?

Because if you didn't like boardgame styled 'Classic' you could play 'Blitz' which was the game minus the board game limitations like the Chaos League game they produced before.
So...they provided the option to play both methods of playing the game and people were still not happy about it. Damn internet!

Blood Bowl was just what I wanted, a way to play the TT game with all my childhood friends dispte no one living close to eachother anymore. Even with the bugs it was dumb fun like back in the day. But "Blitz" mode suck, it was crap plan and simple. No where near Chaos League, and it is a damn shame.
If this game can do the same, my wallet my open 1 more time for a GW product. It has been along time since that happened. I wonder if my rats can go untouched by the sister again. While even my Rat Orge will hide hide from that big chaos dude, one game killed 3 of my guy and I mean killed as in after game injury table dead.

You can't be serious. Blitz mode doesn't resemble a real live action sport what so ever. A blood bowl video game could have gotten into scouting, recruiting, playbooks, playing ACTUAL American football, or something that would take more then just a few minutes time.
I'm not interested in doing the same thing in a Video game I can already do with a board game. I'm surprised some of you don't want the game to really come alive.

Hey all you said was you couldn't understand why they put in board game limitations into the game. I came back and said there was a version of the game that didn't have the board game limitations.
Never said it was good (I havent played more than a game of it myself because I like bloodbowl for the boardgame aspect of it) nor did I say it resembled a real live action sport, but that is ok coz after all most sports frown on zombifying opponent players or straight up trying to murder them with CLPOMB combo players.
However I don't have any desire to play "ACTUAL American football" as you say, as that is what Madden is for. Get some coding chops and re-skin that baby with elves and orcs if that is what you are wanting.
For me, the game does come alive seeing the individual players move and have their little animations. That is what I want.
As it has been said above, this allows me to play with friends (and randoms) from the comfort of my own home at the time I want, and for a fraction of the time/financial cost of buying, building and painting a new team.
Though I have to say your last comment does remind me of an argument of why have "naughty pictures" on the web when you can find a partner in real life. And I would say it is the same reasons.
Time, convenience and inability of finding a willing partner.

I remember when I first played the new XCom game how cool and easy it would be to turn that into a Necromunda style game (it even had overwatch, morale, and man down mechanics). So I'm cautiously optimistic about this and hope it leads someday to a necromunda game as well.

I'd actually think it would be better if it was more like XCOM: Apocalypse than the new XCOM game (with modern graphics of course). I.e RPG levels of customisation for warbands, multi level locations, usable/enterable/destructible buildings etc. this is doubally true for Necromunda.
If you don't know what XCOM: Apocalypse is, spend a few quid on steam, ignore the old old graphics and kiss goodbye to the rest of the week.
