I regret bailing on WFB... A friend and I were interested in picking it up, so we split IoB and bulked it out a little bit. A few weeks go by, after painting and reading over the rulebook and codices, a guy at our LGS offers to teach us how to play. The problem was, he was using the recently-updated Vampire Counts book, and didn't really show us how to play at all. We both got horribly stomped, still had no idea how to play, and gave the game up after that.
I do love the larger monster models, and I own some of them. I would buy more, but since I don't play that system, I can't justify buying any more.

hmm I regret giving away all my minis when I left my parents about 14 years ago. I thought na I'll never play these games ever again.
Then I got hit by the bug again 2 years ago
So what did I give away?
10,000 points of Eldar
3,000 points of Space Marines
2,000 points of Nids
WFB 2,000 points Chaos Warriors army
WFB 2,000 points Undead Army
All the Blood Bowl teams that were done upto that point
A Very large CSM Epic army
Empire and Dark Elf Man O War fleets
plus loads of other GW stuff
I'm not too worried that I lost it all but some stuff is hard to find now like the Blood Bowl and Man O War minis but ebay is helping on that front.
I've been in and out of MTG quite a few times both paper and digital but I seem to make money rather than loose it each time I sell out so thats a bonus

I bailed on Warhammer and I haven't regretted it. I've gotten one game of 6th in, hated it, and haven't played since the end of 5th. At that point, might as well sell it and recoup a decent chunk (fairly good discount price, reselling at 50%). The small amount I will have spent once I got most of it back will have been worth it, and I've started branching into other/better games.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

Nah.. not me. I haven't looked back on any game systems I sold as I tend to sell them after giving it a solid try for usually several years.

I regret getting rid of all my Epic scale stuff. I had a huge Imperial army, a Chaos army and a large Ork army, a 100% complete copy of Adeptus Titanicus and loads of other stuff.
I swapped it all with someone I knew at the time for a Super Nintendo and a load of games iirc.
Epic was by far the best system GW ever produced imo, it really had an 'epic' feel.

The only stuff I'd say I regret getting rid of, or losing in my case, is my Epic Tyranids. Occasionally I get the urge to try the system again and then lose interest because of how hard it is to get some of that stuff.

I bailed on Warmachine/Hordes when it was still in version 1 ruleset, which isn't very long ago when compared to some rulesets, but I realize now that I might have had more fun delving completely into that system than going 100% 40k.

I've not sold off/disposed of any game systems I've bailed on (parts of them yes, but never the whole deal).
Games I've bailed on:
M:TG: Keeping up with the joneses every time a set rotates. I still have some of the older cards (through invasion block and some after) that I still build decks with to play casually with on rare occasion.
Warmachine: Bailed in MK1 when it became infantrymachine (at the time I got out you were handicapping yourself by taking warjacks). Luckily didn't sell the models so I was able to restart relatively easily when I had a chance to review MK2 later.
WH Fantasy: Built a 2000 pt skink skirmisher army for 6th ed. Dropped out when people stopped playing tabletop for a while, and when I came back Fantasy was dead. At this point it'd probably cost me almost a whole new army to modernize for the current edition, and with nobody in the area playing...
40K I actually stopped playing for a couple of years (stopped in 4th, came back at the tail end of 5th), but I still had my armies and only needed a little bit of modernizing on my Marines to get them playable.
I'd love to not bail on Dropzone Commander, but I never saw anyone playing it. I've watched people buy it, and sit at the work table at the LGS to put them together or even paint them, but they never seem to show up for games.

Me too.. I had about 10,000pts of Epic, and Imperial Guard army. About a dozen titans, whole tank and infantry companies etc, inc. some stuff that would be really rare nowadays.
I miss the playing experience of the game more than missing out on the money side of things, it is indeed a tremendously made game.
Otherwise I've not really ever quit a game system, and have kept a single force for every game although I have sold superfluous armies. My pre-heresy World Eater force will never be sold (simply because of the ridiculous amount of man hours I spent on converting the miniatures, it was all made prior to the Forge world Heresy range so every model is converted) - normally I play a game of 40k every 6 months or so, pulled back in by the imagery or a BL book, and get to the end of the 2nd turn before I realise why all of my stuff had been boxed up in the first place..
So I wouldn't say 'bailed', but more left sat on the toilet while the edition steam-train has motored on past and disappeared way over the horizon and I neither know nor care where I am anymore
