No one likes to lose and losing when you spend a lot of money on something makes you look like a fool , and being seen as a fool is worse then death for humans. No wonder OP feels bad about a possible lost game.

That's true, I didn't know that synapseless Tyranids were even a thing. They are still better than BA without their dataslate.

If the OP has a legitimate (like _____phobia) of losing, I suggest finding something legitimately dangerous as a secondary hobby, so 40K won't seem as bad.

Yes. This is the best suggestion.
Losing at 40k won't feel so bad if it's compared to a different activity that if things go wrong could cost you your life, regardless of how much lube you use.
