That is true, once had chance to buy that limited edition carry case but was too poor for normal one so missed out big time on it.

But hoping to save up or get one for my birthday in few months time.

I don't,t put too much into limited editions, its just a more expensive normal one most if the time.

Yes my army has first edition terminaitors, metal tac marines, inquisitor and few other old ones but there for fun + look great :-)

I believe its first, its that or second at the latest. There metal, and match rouge trader designs.

Dated 1989 for the oldest, a old grey knight and a old temie cklad Liberian/Chaplin I believe.

Wow that terminator looks better then the new models of it lol

hope they don't turn complete Fine cast of all models for elites and HQ's metal was better to be fully honest easier to work with in preparing and painting as Fine cast has bubbles inside the plastic that burst.

Metal is easy to paint, very nice to work with just sometimes the chunk by chunk plastic kits can be easier to get the details.

They also have some weight to em, not light so less wobble on some surfaces :-)

I also have rougue trader tac marines with old weapons, may army is a bit random :-)

I know with metal had no model issues, but with fine cast do agree its easier to get detail but if a model in fine cast had a trapped bubble and pops in wrong place, it can make model look a bit bad. I know my Incubi leader is missing 2 horns lol

But yeah do agree metal is easier to base paint and sometimes bigger detail but plastic has sharper detail allowance to do.

Wow wish kept my old Warhammer fantasy model as had a full metal Lich Lord that no longer made

Its also durability, you know if you strip metal it won,t hurt it 99% of time and details will not be lost.

Easy to repaint, or strip back the paint layers cleanly to bare metal

I was lucky when found it was unpainted and in based, just needed a bit of a clean before I painted it.

True you can't chip metal either without really meaning to unlike plastic one wrong move and bit chips or breaks off.

But they equal each other in view points as they both have equal good and bad points of them.

Yeah like I see metal however detailed beyond a certain point becomes way too hevey, my termites are fine but you need plastic/finecast at larger scales.

However I have a modern sterngaurd in plastic kit and the metal model sat on desk, the detail they get I to plastic is very high.

I'm going to have to get some Chaos Terminators sometime once done majority of the other models still requiring painting and so forth.

Just thankful that Daemons are majority plastic and barely metal or I'd be having hell gluing them all together lol

Also I would not want to imagine what a greater deamon of khrone on the force world site would weigh!

Its a massive model, all metal would be madness, that is not small by any count or scale.

I only have black templers for now but am starting my urban cammo IG, its slow though as well I'm not rich n the cammo is more complex.

I'm planning on getting Khorne as my Daemon side of army for my Chaos.

Think GW turned greater daemon's into Finecast now sadly, but hoping to get Forge world version as he looks way more impressive and far more "crap yourself" scary lol

Also found how painful it is to open citadel paints as impaled my thumb joint lol

Yeah + the scale, the big ones are big and impressive.
Make a great centerpiece to the army with size comes lots of chance for detail work :-)

Getting them open is tough first time, I fell almost like I'm going to send it flying allover if I'm not caereful.

That would be a lucky gift, that's not exactly a scout sqaud, its a expensive model :-)

Hopefully not near a carpeted floor, some colours don't,t come out easy.

I have wooden, but still not exactly a great idea!

Aye unsure how large the Greater daemon of khorne is from Forge World but hoping its bit bigger then the GW version. Suppose to be a grand embodiment yet its same size as large units makes it look weaker lol

This is something, think this thread is the No.1 so far lol

Aha well may get a case in future, but there is one issue with them cases well two one being price is quite a lot and second part is there have a issue of sometimes breaking delicate models by how the foam is stiff and not flexible for delicate models like Necron Gauss weapons for basic warriors.

You have to cut out the foam in each layer, so there are slots for single models and you need to cut like a foam wall between two spaces to make larger spaces.

Its how it is last I knew, but that was some years back so they may of changed it since then.
