You know GW are probably gonna nerfbat our shooting into the ground somehow, right? I mean, a Xenos faction had a good five minute spint, now the Astartes have to be the best again. Because otherwise the universe is too Grim-

But looking at this in terms of story line (cough.. I know but let me continue) could it be a sign of The End Times?

Chaos and the Warp breaking through much easier and this is it for reality, every psycher becoming a conduit for the beast of the warp?

This is why I'm going Grey Knights for this edition.

Thematically, it's going to rock.

I also want to ally a GK to my IG and have him summon a daemon.

GK's get ML3, right?

Oh, snap.

There shall be a range-based accuracy modifier. -1 Bs for every 6" away the enemy is, to a minimum of 1.

Probably.

Hopefully, this new school will be limited to CSM, but I doubt it. GW gots to sell some models!

IMO, the goofy Daemons codex should be done away with, and Chaos Daemons should ONLY appear on the table if summoned by a CSM army.

Probably something closer to "All units must fire at BS1", with modifiers. Then Space Marines will get "And they shall know no nerf", which gives them the "Perfect shot" special rule. Obviously that means they shoot with +1 BS, ignoring negative modifiers.

It should be pointed out that Chaos Marines will obviously not get this bonus. Part of not being in the Imperium Cool club having the Emperor's guiding hand.

No, I'm not bitter...

Ya know...

I have the fear, based on nothing at all concrete, it's just an idea at this point... that the creation of this new school is gonna remove a lot of the mystery from certain things.

Like, we start seeing requirements of having a Sisters of Battle or Ecclesiarchal Daemonurgist in order to field a Living Saint, because suddenly Living Saints just became Daemons of Order. Or the Legion of the Damned require some kind of Imperial Daemonurgist to show up on the battlefield, because these Space Marines From Beyond are actually Daemons of some kind. Blood Angels require a Librarian with Daemonurgy to field the Sanguinor, because the Sanguinor is a Daemon of some kind or another.

It just seems... dumb.

I like this idea for once tempted to go make Guard army with a radical inquisitor and summon me some deamons - for a soon to be excommunicated Inquisitor and traitor guard!

Can Inquisitors or IG become ML3?

You need ML3 to summon...

I dont know if they could - im sure i woudl find a way to get a ML3 in there somehow even if it were using a Chaos dude and modeling them to look like a radical inquisitor?

IG? No.

Inquisitors? I don't know.

assuming there is no way to use 3 warp change as a ML1 or ML2 psyker. We dont know how this will all work in 7th.

Exactly. Considering you pool your dice together and choose how many to roll for the powers you choose to use, it could be possible for a ML1 psycher to use 2 or 3 Warp Charge powers.

We don't know, yet.

Yes.. It's possible that they could pool their powers together, like a brotherhood of sorcerers...

Now I want to attach three Primaris Psykers at Mastery 2 into a 50-man blob squad... It seems that the summoning powers require a model's sacrifice (given their wording and that the final one kills the psyker), using a blob squad for this could be utterly terrifying. Loss of ~5 pts per daemon squad, gain of about 100 pts per daemon squad... Overall of +95 pts per summon

I can't disagree more. I love Daemons. In 3rd and 3.5 editions I ran as many as I could fit in my with CSM, and then in late 4th, GW gave me a present: I could now field my Daemons without any marines to hold them back. Sure, the army performed mediocre at best, but man, was I in my element. Now, with the 6th Ed 'dex, I'm enjoying my time in the sun. Please don't take that away from me

Daemons--5000
Death Guard --2000
Daemons--15000
Word Bearers--10000

Total investment in the Forces of Chaos: 38,000

I'm all for it. I bought my Great Unclean One way back in 3.5 and I've NEVER fielded him. The only time he hit the table was as a Daemon Prince on a Dark Apotheosis roll.

I skipped over the last daemon codex completely, but bought the current one just for the hell of it. Now I am glad that I did!

Well you could summon a BT or you could summon some horrors and a tzerald with grim then cast power #1 for a free horrorstar that is pretty much self sufficient.

Consider you need to spend 30 points for a grimoire, and there is no indication that you can purchase wargear for summoned units, this is a bit much to assume.

If you read the 4th spell on the malefic chart it says the herald summoned may take up to 30 poimts of upgrades and all I thought of was grimoir for the horrors then my farseer explodes and brings out that keeper of secrets because slaanesh and eldar should totally bro fist each other

Y'know, I would actually start an Eldar army, just to watch it all transform into various incarnations of Slaanesh in a wonderful fluff-murdering manner

Or you could use it to represent old-school Chaos Eldar, or Eldar who have just 'given up' and decided to screw the galaxy over.
