Yeah just take a bunch of squads like this:

3 ordo xenos inquisitors/w conversion beamer, rad grenades & servo skulls.
1 ordo hereticus inquisitor/w psycholoum and rad grenades.

really cheap, amazing shooting potential (assuming you dont move), and fairly stupid to charge it because your at -4 toughness so they can instagib most things with their bolt pistol overwatch.


or, just take chapter masters on bikes with power weapons of varying types. can take 11 in an 1850 list and you have a few spare points to buy one a relic.

11 orbital bombardments turn one, and 11 guys with fairly nasty melee and 4 wounds apiece all with toughness 5 and invunerable saves.
