I'd love to play it. But I'm hesitant to drop £25 on it without actually experiencing it properly.

Yeah, I totally get that. I struggled with dropping the $30 on the spot without really having any experience to go on. These are the guys that made Age of Conan, though, and I remember really, REALLY enjoying the first 20 levels of that. It turned to crap afterwards because they had all their focus on those first 20 levels, but reading reviews seemed to indicate that they'd learned from that and spaced things out better. So far so good, lots of great voice acting and storyish bits. The gameplay took a little bit to kick in, but it's starting to hook me more. All the abilities seem bland and similar at first, but actually using them starts to show the depth. The lack of levels is refreshing, and repeatable missions are great for having a goal other than grinding when you don't want to push the main story forward. Someone described it as "An MMO for people who are tired of MMOs," and that sums it up pretty well.

LoTRO here. Lifetimer, so I’m intermittent.

I keep meaning to re-load champion’s online. Picked up a lifetime to that, but it started slow, so I was waiting for it to bloom a bit before going back.

I have played quite a lot of MMOs, but I'm currently playing Final Fantasy XIV.

I've been known to play two at a time and I'm going to be resubscribing to The Secret World again when I get back to the States, probably.

Very occasionally I'll juggle three but that usually means I'm barely dabbling in two of them.

There's no subscription fee for TSW now.

I know, but I liked the XP booster and the points for buying ridiculous costume stuff.

As a Champions online player, I just want to say it is both the best and worst game ever. I've never had a game punish me for FINISHING A MISSION THE WAY IT TOLD ME TO.

I 'play' Eve Online (and by play I mean I have an account that I log into to set skill training and observe in game politics with, but rarely have time to leave station anymore), and occasionally log into Planetside 2.

My friends are trying to draft me to Wildstar, and I'd like to try Mechwarrior.

After a week of Wildstar, and getting to level 14, it plays a lot like WoW. It uses a lot of positioning and triggering powers for combat, which is less like the older MMOs, and more like Guild Wars and WoW, IIRC.
I'll not buy it, so I'm back to PS2, LOTRO and ESO when I can be bothered to.

I was playing DDO until they tried to force me to download something to download their updates. I stopped then and haven't picked it up, but started playing LOTRO. That kept me going for a while but I seemed to just stop because I had better things to be doing.

Might go back to one or other now that DDO has fixed the problem I had with it.

Played WOW for a while, didn't like it.

Honest question, why's that? My only beef with them is level 20+ Age of Conan.

Oh heck, I forgot Dungeons and Dragons Online: Eberron! I was in the open beta for that game (because it was free). I have great memories of my barely up to minimum specs computer lagging like hell through the tutorial dungeons. Then I decided it wasn't worth it anymore.

Anarchy Online was a thing I played at one point. Just didn't hold me. World felt way too huge without enough actual people in it or any real plans on where to go. After wandering around for a couple hours without seeing much in the way of stuff to do I just left.

To this day I regret the fact I didn't get in on Hellgate: London. That is an irreparable mark on my record of playing all the "innovative and new" MMOs that didn't actually gain any traction.

Like watching other people play video games (badly) while blathering about nothing in particular? Check out my Youtube channel: joemamaUSA!

DDO didn't seem to have enough viable character build variation after a certain point. You'd either put points into the skills you needed, or you weren't likely to survive many missions.

AO was fun, before lots of other games took their ideas and put them into better engines. I went back to it a couple of years ago, and the dread of waiting in the buff queue was just too much.

Hellgate was a good idea, and was always worth playing before a trip to London. Wandering around the British Museum after that was 'different'.
Auto Assault went the same way, as did EA's spaceships-as-characters game from before then, Earth and Beyond.

I usually just play 1 MMO at a time.

Currently that one is Wildstar

i have played..
EQ2
Star Wars Galaxies
Vanguard
Warhammer online
WoW
GW2
Neverwinter
Dragon Quest
SWTOR
Tera Online
Finaly Fantasy 11
Final Fantasy 14
Wildstar (Currently playing)
Rift
Aion
LOTRO
Elder scrolls online (Worst mmo ive ever played)

Ive enjoyed all of them, but the free 2 play ones usually suck to play more then a couple months. They have the whole feel of one and done, and the cash shops are annoying.

Usually one at any time.. mostly being WoW and currently so.

I have a free accoount on Champions Online, but its not had the same pull as CoH... I think if CoH hadn't been canned I would have gone lifetime sub and dropped WoW by now.

Others I've tried..

Eldar Scrolls - not a fan of it at all
Guild Wars 2 - racial options turned me off
Everquest 2 - was good, but too close to WoW, which I am more invested in
City of Heroes - probably my fave MMO, a CoH2 or massive upgrade would have had me for good, it was starting to feel its age.
Warhammer Online - it broke Mythic as a gaming dev and rightly so, that's all I need to say on the matter, but I gave it a good try.. and not even Druchii could keep me there.

"That's not an Ork, its a girl.." - Last words of High General Daran Ul'tharem, battle of Ursha VII.

I just click through so fast I forget, but I’m pretty sure I’m on Arkenstone.

Leveling a hobbit burglar through moria at the moment (level 56 57 IIRC)

Edit - logged on to play, actually looked at what I was clicking...
