You know what's wrong with the world, it ain't fat chicks pal, it's poisonous little scrots with vaulted 'opinion' about how other people should look, how they should dress, how they should be just as I want, because my opinion matters, because I'm the special fething snowflake in the universe, my strong suggestion is you get the feth over it and start being nicer to people instead of lurking about spreading your toxic opinion on how everyone else lives. Yes you are being a 'donkey cave', change it.
Nice.
You should probably, you know, read the thread before you get all self righteous.

I for one hate on how a lot of these "Curvy" girls seem to want to "be seen as beautiful" but a ton of songs that these people are putting out/pictures/messages they endorse are calling slim chicks "Twig skinny bitches" or similar. Hypocrite much?

Trex was actually driving at that point earlier in the thread.
I don't think we need to get into a equivalency argument here, because it's not the point, though I don't disagree with it.
My larger point, really (and I'm sad it appears to be obfuscated because I said it's "unsightly") is that I don't think we should be parading obesity like it's a good thing, and I fear thats what these sort of movements are doing. Being obese can, and does, kill people. feth, it kills more people in the US than guns, cars, and booze combined. 1 in 5 people in the United States that die are dying due to complications caused by obesity.
That's a big problem....
And that ignores the costs, monetarily, of it:
THE COSTS OF OBESITY
Beyond the toll in human suffering and death, obesity and its associated diseases have a steep price tag. Obesity is a significant factor driving health care spending. One study estimates the medical costs attributable to obesity in the U.S. in 2008 reached $147 billion per year – almost 10% of all medical spending.13 If current trends continue, the costs of obesity could reach 16% to 18% of US health expenditures by 2030.14 Among adolescents, the total excess cost related to the current prevalence of adolescent overweight and obesity is estimated to be $254 billion – $208 billion in and $46 billion in direct medical costs.

I don't know what it's called, but it's Bass or Boom Boom, or something, one of the newer songs.
It's less songs and more just facebook pages I go to; one of which is LIquor, Girls, and fething video games. While the Mods of that page are pretty good about it, a lot of the people who go there seem to be very anti-slim.

It doesn't surprise me in the least, honestly; in today's politically correct society, if anyone says anything bad about someone the speaker is in the wrong no matter what.

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.

You mean this video?
Why be hatin'? It is indeed all about dat bass... Also none of those girls are ones that I'd kick out of bed unless she was eating cookies and didn't offer me one or two...
Also the song is catchy is feth.

Well...
There was the Maria Kang incident.
There's the ever popular "real women have curves" movement.
There's more, but those are the two that immediately came to mind....

It's easy to find examples when you don't understand how they don't fit your argument or eve what those situations entailed.

I have been been criticized for that, so yes, it actually does happen.

Now I don't particular care, but... There are some really rude women out there. Fat or not. I prefer for my tastes. Athletic women, because I am an athletic.
But I am glad people are proud of what they have. But you know what is also a good thing to do? To try and be better. You can delude yourself and say I love everything about myself and I can't get better than this.
The entire point of getting fit is trying at some way change yourself or improve yourself.
Its unhealthy to try and say that to yourself all the time. That just makes your ego stand in the way of many things. The common thing now is that larger women are very rude to slimier and athletic women because they are trying to hard to be attractive.
I think that is kind of wrong, the athletic people really don't give two hoots what they really look like, (well the ones i've met anyway) they are training for the sake of the fun, they play sports, to have fun, they are athletic because they want to have fun.
Now let me diffuse this before everyone thinks I hate large women. My mother is a large woman, my father is well, he has a beer gut. They just lost track of exercise because they simply lost their patience for it. That is completely fine.
But its fad it usually goes away pretty quickly. Like the healthness fad from the 70s and late 2000s

Well, they both do. Thanks anyways.
Maria Kang was lambasted for "fat shaming" when she wasn't, in any way shape or form. She's a mom of three small kids. She's able to stay in shape because she makes it a priority. The tag " what's your excuse" is entirely appropriate because, for most people, being fit is a matter if effort and impulse control. The % of people that actually have physiological problems keeping them obese is very small.
The "real women have curves" nonsense implies that if you're fit or don't "have curves" you're not a real woman. It's insulting.

My father has a gut, and My mother is a large woman. Not obese, but large. Its the aftermath of having three kids and thinking. "Screw it, I have three kids to feed."
Anyway, fixed the grammaritical error it was suppose to be a coma!

And of course there is the infamous "bones are for dogs, meat is for men" line bandied about.

I never bloody got that idea. Ever. I remember taking biology and knowing full well that an animal that probably has the most meat on them are not the ones with all fat on them, but the ones with all the bulging muscles. (plus it adds flavor)
So wouldn't it be the opposite, women with highly toned muscles have more meat than women who don't have any sort of muscle formations that are visible?

And what about psychological problems?
Also, no, that tagline was not appropriate. She claims she wanted to inspire but then her tag line belittles rather than empowers. She could have instead put "It's possible" or "You can do it, too!" but instead she went with flat out blaming any woman who is not in peak physical condition for their circumstance.

Whats your excuse works pretty well.
When you read it and say your excuse, only you can decide if its a worthy one. If your excuse is you lost both your legs in the vietnam war, then well that sounds like a reasonable excuse. But if its because you'd rather spend that 30 minutes eating candy, then well maybe thats not such a good excuse.
Its actually thought provoking really, something designed to be remembered and more importantly causes self reflection.
Being fit doesnt mean peak physical condition. It simply means being healthy.

The rest of the world is really quite tired hearing the excuses fat people constantly make for being fat. You're not big boned, you're not genetically predisposed to be fat, and it isn't impossible for you to lose weight. If you want to be fat, fine, go ahead. It doesn't personally impact my life enough for me to care outside of being disgusted by those that are morbidly obese.
Understand the following though, you're putting your personal health at risk, you will be less attractive to the majority of the population (applies to men and women), your quality of life will be lower due to physical impairments, and because you are too lazy and/or ignorant to lose weight doesn't mean shaming non fat people is acceptable nor is it acceptable for you to glorify your self destructive tendencies.

That is extremely worg argument. You are using two examples. What about the mom of 3 who comes home after working in the coal mine to feed three little crotch spawn?
