Dorn was killed by a bunch of baddies on board a Chaos ship.

Curze even foresaw his death, where he was stabbed by a bunch of traitors.

That only a Primarch can kill a Primarch thing is a little odd.

The Primarchs are all demigods, and would hence make worthy adversaries, but it doesn't mean that they can't be killed by anything else.

Never confirmed, his hand was found but not the body.

Visions and foresight can be metaphorical. And even if it were, he was apparently slain by an Assassin, not a bunch of traitors.

What about this? http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Remains_of_Rogal_Dorn#The_Skeletal_Body_of_Rogal_Dorn

And also:
.‘I am Rogal Dorn,’ he said. The Night Haunter said nothing. In his mind’s eye, he saw the giant die, dragged down by a hundred murderers in a dark tunnel, their knives and swords wet with the warrior’s blood.

Must've been a mob of assassins, and it sounds quite literal too. Curze had also correctly predicted Ferrus' beheading, and Fulgrim and Lorgar's ascensions. And are you saying that Dorn was killed by an Imperial assassin? Cos if any assassin were to target Dorn, it would most likely be a traitor assassin.

The first point conflicts with what has been the canon for a while

Lexicanum wrote:Rogal Dorn is missing and presumed dead after attacking a Black Crusade fleet with a vastly outnumbered force. Seeing the importance of attacking the enemy fleet while they were still preparing he relied on hit-and-run attacks until his reinforcements could arrive. Dorn went missing on board the Despoiler Class Battleship Sword of Sacrilege after leading a desperate attack on its bridge. Only his hand was recovered which is kept in stasis by his chapter.[2]

Source is apparently Index Astartes II. If there has been a retcon in the last god only knows how many years I haven't heard about it.

On the Assassins point, I thought you were talking about Curze being killed by the mob. Miscommunication there. In either case, it also predates Vulkan Lives and can be interpreted metaphorically, as well as literally. I choose to read it metaphorically.

My source was released in 1993, followed by your source in 2001 in WD, and in IA II in 2003. However mine was re-published in 2010. So which one does GW want us to follow? hahah
